Also apparently 2.1 will be out on sept 30th for X10 and there's a rumour for 2.2 for Q4, but that remains to be unseen, something about scare tactics in the Xda forum.
Good to hear. I've seen what the XDA Forum have been doing, and I'm hopeful of a result. The X10 is still the phone I want, more than any other. I'm thinking its a 50/50 shout, as to if SE do implement the Froyo upgrade on the X10.
On the one hand, they need to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S (for spec), and Dell Streak (size); and on the other hand, they don't want to update their X10 so much, that their 2011 phones will sit on the shelves, unsold. Its a tricky one.

as for internet needs, if you'll be using sat nav regularly is 1 gig data enough? trying to decide between plans and a lot have either 500 mb or 1 gig, unlimited costs a bit more.
-
• #1457
If you're restricted to just one provider, that sounds pretty stingy (500MB-1GB). Other network providers offer 3GB.

This is very promising - Dell Streak review.
Official word from Dell regarding definite upgrade to Froyo 2.2.

that thing looks huge. I've seen quite a few adverts for getting it free on a £25 a month contract and similar deals, seems they are giving it the hard sell.
-
• #1460
Eh, it's only a wee bit bigger than the x10 haha
-
• #1461
25% bigger apparently. I still prefer the X10 though.
But I'll wait to see what's available in November/December.

when will the Rapha app be available for it?
-
• #1463
Still waiting for my Hero's 2.1 update from T-Mobile... Apparently they started rolling these out on Friday... Anyone got theirs yet?
-

If there actually is a God, and that God is kind.....a Rapha app will never appear.

well the iphone one is launched in a week or 2

The iPhone is known to live a God-free existence.
Android is just ever so slightly Zoroastrian in its outlook.

any desire users having trouble with internal memory? like, running out of it so that you can't even text? my colleague is spitting feathers and cursing the android os and saying "this would never happen on the iphone..."
-
• #1468

Tell him to uninstall all those porn apps.

Nope.
Your colleague sounds like an IE6 user that clicks 'Yes' to everything that wants to install and tries every app mentioned to them. Memory is not an infinite resource.. like oil or something.. sheesh
-
• #1471
funny thing is, he hasn't installed any apps yet. the phone is nearly 2 months in and factory fresh! haha!
-
• #1472
a lot of chatter on android forums shows its not that un-common but no one has a solution that doesn't involve a hack or mod or something.
-
• #1473
Someone's fucked something up then.. mine is still stock with a few apps and hasn't had any brainfarts yet..
-
• #1474
I've had no problems with my Desire at all.
Sounds like he loaded too many apps, and filled the memory, which in turn is causing grief.

"funny thing is, he hasn't installed any apps yet." so he says.
