  • Ordered a Nexus 5... The red one looks pretty but I went with the racist one instead.

  • I've got the red one. When they say bright red what they actually mean is BRIGHT FUCKING RED. Its an awesome colour but the pictures do not do justice to the BRIGHT FUCKING REDNESS of the phone.

It can be a touch embarrassing taking it out in business meetings.

  • Lol. I played with a black one the other day (euph) and I really liked the contrast between gloss and matte - they pulled it off really well, IMO.

    Also, DAT SCREEN.

  • Possible dumb question: with the new handset, can I just re-download all my apps free of charge or will it just restore them when I log in for the first time?

  • A colleague of mine said he was really struggling with battery life on his (N5), any tips to pass on?

no idea. mines amazing without a single bit of effort on my part.

On day 1 after full charge I got 3 hours screen time, two 15 minute phone calls, several re-boots and even a complete reset and re-setup.

    maybe return it.

really wanted the red one, but went black for professional reasons.

depends really on how you log in the first time.

if you use the initial set-up to log-in, then it will download everything, wallpaper included.

if you "skip" and then add account through settings, it'll just do the basic stuff and skip the apps.

    thats been my experience.

  • Got one of those 0.3mm glass screen protectors for my N5. Much easier to fit than one of the plastic film ones and it's much smoother than the phone's glass. Resists oily finger marks too. £8 so quite a lot more than a plastic one but worth it IMO

  • Any-one here using Android Run Time on their nexus 5? Any issues?

  • Or keep.

  • and is it any good? my phone downloaded it all of it's own accord and i want to know whether to sod off evernote for it

  • I use keep for glanceable information that I don't want to have to open an app to view. Its mostly used for door codes and shopping lists.

  • The back of my N4 has shattered to bits and is well and truly f*cked. Any recommendations for replacements?

Depending on how bad it is I'd highly recommend sticking a dbrand skin over the top. Mine was really badly cracked with a few gouges out of it. I ordered a new back but also a skin. I applied the skin to the cracked one and ended up not bothering putting the new back on. I'll keep that for when I sell it. I can probably find the link to where I bought the back but personally I'd order a skin first. The carbon one is good.

  • I want to do a bit of teaching on using mobile apps to a group in a room. I want to wirelessly mirror my Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet screen on my MacBook, which will be plugged into a projector. Has anyone done this? App to use? Thanks!

may be a good starting point.

Thanks very much, but I think that's just for sharing to compatible TVs.

  • this app has a 7 day trial and seems to do what you're after... http://www.bomgar.com/trial

  • Where is this sodding Parcelforce van!? The tracking said it left at 6:30 am, the driver must be knackered.

  • Is there a good app to securely send/share photos? By which I mean, password or code protected.

I've found a "secure gallery app" that hides a folder from other galleries until you enter a code, but in combination with whatsapp this still leaves a "blurry" version of the image in the thread...

  • ^ p0rn?

  • Stuffs

I've found "tigertext" which seems to replicate the functionality but is rather buggy - photos don't attach, each time you open a conversation you get a random selection of the messages.. hmm.

I am deleting the pics, honest.

Are you still working for GCHQ?
