Typical of the current Nokia thinking, do something three years after everyone else.

Guy that runs our IT provider really rates the nokia lumia 520. Don't know if that counts for anything.

Is anyone NOT getting 4.4.2 on N5? I still cant see it
-
• #13707
I'm still on 4.4 and have just checked for updates and nothing's shown up. Not sure whether that's because it's rooted but I wouldn't think so.

if you have a custom recovery i'd avoid updating using the OTA update until you reflash the stock recovery, i fucked my htc one up and had to wipe the whole thing and sideload it to get it to boot again.

Was using CM10.2 Nightlies(4.3) on my Galaxy S3(i9300). Was offered CM11 (4.4) nighty via the built-in updater. Installed a few days ago, no problems so far except I need to find the right gapps.zip for 4.4

I upgraded from cm-10.2-20131205-NIGHTLY to cm-11-20131208-NIGHTLY. Can't remember what version of ClockworkMod I'm running; something from earlier this summer probably.

I got the 4.4.2 update last night so my Nexus 5 is now not rooted. Any suggestions for rooting that won't wipe everything on the phone?

I've just started the process to move over to Three to get their £15 4G unlimited deal once it rolls out. I ended up doing it in store in my lunch break, my only concern is that the contract is for £25/month with a £10 "rolling discount".
I asked if this "rolling discount" would end after 12 mths and I was promised it would continue for life, just checking that there wont be any nasty surprises in a years time.
Is that the same for anyone who purchased online?
-
• #13717
Hmm, didn't know that? Thats potentially a bit rubbish, although assuming your contract would be complete in a year anyway you wouldn't lose out as such

The camera is focussing a bit quicker. I've not noticed anything else.

Yep, hidden on the back of the paperwork they send you.

Thanks - At least I know I'll no be alone if they change the offer terms (Despite the sales persons promise that the offer will never be removed)

• #13721
Yeah, I was kind of suprised when I saw it, then immediately filed it under 'well that can be figured out next year'

Gave up trying to root the Galaxy Nexus. I don't reboot for no usb driver!

if there's one thing I've learnt about telephone network providers is that they're full of lying assholes and every single person who works for them will tell you anything to get the sale.

What do OTA updates do to root access? will they just fail to install on n5 or will it install and lose me root.
Got 4.4.2 on N4 OTA this evening too
