I have the update on my N4... unfortunately I only see the notification on the dead touch screen. Still waiting for the N5 to be shipped...

Nice one, Casa. Thanks for the heads up.

Every other day my N5 comes up with a SIM card error. A reboot sorts it out, but its starting to get annoying, Googling hasn't highlighted anyone else with similar issues, I don't know if ifs a network (o2) or phone issue?
-

Sounds like a phone issue or a SIM issue.
Mine's been rock solid, and SIM cards are fairly primitive things... can't imagine it being an issue with then network.
You should be able to get O2 just to replace your SIM by popping in to a shop. Try that out first, and if it continues then go the warranty route on the phone.

Thanks, I've found a link to people with the same issue: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/b-HQZZ_jM74/5mh992PFcZEJ
Mixed success with replacement SIMs and changing the network mode (3g/4g) in this message chain.
I've turned off 4g (as I'm only on 3g anyway) & next time it happens I'll pickup a new SIM to see if that sorts it out.

I swapped my normal sized sim for a micro sim when I got the N5.
It took about 5mins to active the new sim and was free from O2. -

So all this talk about 4G - who is actually using their phones or tablets on 4G? Who are you with and what are you paying? Is the speed boost worth the extra cost for you?
I ask since my contract is finally up, and I am going sim free on the phone. But want to get a 4G mobile access point on PAYG. Trying to work out if the EE deal I have on the table is worth going for or should I look at something else.

Depends on your current plan. For me it's like going back to a plan I had in 2006 so i'm going to hold off.

As VB has pointed out before, Three is the only game in town...
£15 gets you a SIM only deal with all-you-can-eat-data and loads of minutes/texts...
4G rolls out in December, tho' it's apparently quite slow 4G...

My phone bill will drop to £11 a month from £34. Then the 4G AP will be £70, plus £15 for 2GB per month on a rolling SIM only plan.

I forgot to mention that deal is with EE. Not sure if things are cheaper through Orange or T-mobile at the moment. They are trying to get customer to move across to EE for 4G, but at the same time you can stay with Orange, but pay more for 4G. Very confusing.
Yeah Voda doesn't start till December, that leaves 02. Is anyone using 02 for 4G?
@TS I don't need the minutes and texts, just want a data only plan.

I'd rather have unlimited 'slow' 4g from Three than Orange/EE's super low capped data. what's the point of fast internet if you can't use alot of it?
-
• #13491
Three have an all-you-can-eat data, 200 mins/5000 texts plan for £12.90 per month...

Hi all,
Just got myself a s4 off here. I flashed a google edition rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348272) onto and has been working great except it will always be on HSDPA instead of 3g? I have seen the 3g sign flick on once or twice but never staying on there. I'm on T-Mobile and will be looking into upgrading my contract to 4g but dont want to if I can't get the 3g sorted! Any quick fix ideas i'm missing? Has been a while since I was last on android!
Cheers all.

H is faster than 3G. What are you worried about?

And the 3 deal allows tethering, which I don't think the Giffgaff one does IIRC.....
Pfffft where's my kitty kat?
