I'm done with giffgaff, pissed me off no end, I'm going to 3 on a 1 month rolling contract.
unlimited data
200 mins
5000 texts (who texts these days anyway?)
£12.90/monthI can deal with the extra 90p/month

3 can be pretty shit once you stray outside of London.
-
• #11836
Everything is shit outside of London. giffgaff has been horrendous outside of London.

I hate Vodafone, their service sucks, their pricing sucks... but I really cannot fault their network. Works everywhere.
-
• #11838
Unless you live in Norfolk vodafone is shite.

I pay a lot for T-mobile/orange/EE (its not the 4g) but it means I don't have to pay a single penny more and it works everywhere a mobile should. That is my work phone, my personal phone is on three and I barley use it any more, because 3 is shit and doesn't work well outside London.

giffgaff's website says no problems but this forum is littered with people complaining about London and Greater London.
FTFY
No change there then?

Vodafone costs me £15 per month PAYG for enough minutes (200 I think) more than enough texts and I am always within the data limit. They have a rewardz scheme which you can't seem to claim back (I have 4000 points which should get me a free new phone but can't claim as their webshite crashes.)
Generally good service though strange anomalies such as I lose the network for very brief periods ... annoying in the middle of conversations

I'm on talkmobile - which I think piggybacks voda? And haven't found the coverage spectacular (in/around London). I was previously long time EE so I might be comparing it to the post-merger coverage from them..
You guys seem to have fairly light usage. Ovivo?

Giff Gaff's 3G has been very intermittent for me for a few months now, starting to get a bit grating so I'm considering EE's £16pm deal (unlimited everything) instead of my current £12pm 250mins, unltd. text and unltd. data. Anyone know if EE's 'unlimited' data is actually unlimited or does it have a stupidly low fair usage amount?

We should be speaking to the guys at Open Signal Map http://opensignal.com/ to get them to tell us who we should use.
-
• #11846
Actually... that is a phenomenal site, and I hadn't realised they had re-designed to show exactly that.

• #11847
Citymapper and open signal are both awesome, thanks!

• #11848
Citymapper looks like the dog's seedbags.

• #11849

Quick question (probably answered up-thread)
My SG2 charging pin is mashed and smoke comes (came) out when I attempted to plug into charger.
Can this be repaired?
Well it wasn't fine a while back was it? HMMMM?
