I need one of these to match my mechanical excavator.

It'll still work on google + though so not all bad.
Google+ can do one.
If they keep going, I'll be on Windows phones in 12 months..

^ this. gtalk has completely bit it for me. I'm having really inconsistent connections from my phone. I don't know if it'd be better with hubs or whatever it's called, but I don't want to use that pos.

Galaxy S4 v HTC One v ?
What would you get?

Hangouts is getting better Mark. Voice chat is back in the latest version, I hear.
I am pretty pissed off about the migration of all features into g+, but suppose I can see their strategy.
I am a daily latitude user BTW.

HTC one would be my pick. The Google edition one if possible.

Okay. Adrienne's doing the "gimme me phone. No? Pac code please." dance right now. I'll tell her to also accept the One (in addition to the S4).

• #11812
I haven't upgraded to Hangouts. Can't you just roll back?
-
• #11813
Yup. That's what I did.

Probs gonna buy a nook HD+ tomorrow.
any reasons I shouldn't?
gonna be watching telly in bed and reading magazines on journeys mainly.I got the Nook HD yesterday, nice piece of kit (after I'd fathomed out the slightly out-dated instructions on how to install Cyanogen) with a great screen. I looked at the HD+ which looks very good value but I didn't want one that big.
One issue which is pissing me off but you may not find that important, is that it has a proprietary cable (annoying but not too bad) and it doesn't seem to charge via USB (very annoying having to have a wall socket to charge, especially if you travel a lot).
-
• #11815
Aggi, cheers matey, heard about the proprietary cable, seems archaic anyone not using micro usb!
Gonna buy it tonight, the missus wanted a bigger one (fnar fnar) so full size it is
-
• #11816
Actually it seems you can charge it from USB ports but it's picky about which port is used (and obviously charges slowly compared to the wall plug).
This is the Cyanogen guide I used, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317500 , it's the first hit in Google so you've probably seen the same. Pretty straightforward except you no longer "burn" a 4GB image file as it instructs, when you follow the link to where you download the image file it explains that you just need to make the SD card partition active and then copy across the 5 unzipped files. (Obviously I didn't read that and spent some time wondering why I had 6MB of files rather than a 4GB image).
Once I twigged that it was the easiest firmware update I've done.

ARRGGGHH what have they done to the gmail app?!
-
• #11821
Okay. Adrienne's doing the "gimme me phone. No? Pac code please." dance right now. I'll tell her to also accept the One (in addition to the S4).
Make sure she's not fobbed off with a One X+, One V, One SV etc etc. Nice consistent/confusing branding...

Wtf is going on with giffgaff? Constantly dropping signal. No service available. It's getting annoying.
-
• #11823
Not having any noticeable issues here - maybe check to see if its a local issue with an O2 mast?
-
• #11824
giffgaff's website says no problems but the forum is littered with people complaining in London and Greater London.
