  • I get how they can do local IDs but spoofing a specific phone number from a business is new to me on the scam front.

  • So what you're saying is it was you?

  • Am on EE, switched over to a SIM only contract, and perhaps coincidentally, my main Gmail account no longer appears in my phone calendar, although my secondary one still does. But when I go to add it back, it says "this account already exists on this device".

    Email seems unaffected.

    Help please

  • Ah yeah haven’t seen that.

  • Martial arts training posts. You practise arm blocks against them.

  • A bike question (randomly) - are there any aftermarket SRAM axs 12 speed compatible chainrings out there? Trying to work out how cheaply I could go 12 speed. So far the answer is "not very"

  • Campagnolo Chorus 12s might be interesting? They’ve got a special offer now via selected dealers.

  • Giro MTB shoes in 45.5 - anyone know where I can buy these? Seem to be available from Giro.com but but giro.co.uk

  • What style are you after?

  • Get in touch with Zyrofisher, they’re the Giro distributor in the UK. Maybe they can point you in the right direction.

  • What style are you after?

    Privateer or VR70.

    I'll call them, cheers

  • I managed to fall on my arse and get a muddy stain on the arse of a pair of cream shorts. First washing suggests that this won't be coming off and it's an inconvenient place for a brown stain.

Thinking I may dye them navy or similar.
    Any thoughts on:
Will the dye take over a muddy stain?
How permanent are dyes nowadays? I don't want blue legs when they get wet.
Which dye should I use for best results?

    Cheers

  • HAHA, was not expecting that. Thanks!

  • I did one faded navy pair of jeans and faded black jeans with two of these. Worked a treat.

Got mine from the Range but clearly ^ Sainsbury's do them too as that's where the pic came from.

  • You’ll definitely have a bit of run the first time they get worn/wet but pre rinsing them should help I suppose.

If it’s a heavy stain I’d hazard a guess that you’d still be able to see it.

  • You may well find that the dye takes ok on the fabric bit not on the stitching.

  • I went through this v recently, albeit for a 1x TT setup. My internet conclusions were that quite a lot of 11 speed stuff will work, with chainrings being the most likely although not with the flat top chain.

  • Procion dyes are the best in terms of colour fastness and intensity.

  • In terms of getting stains out, if you want to get serious I found that a mean degreaser can work wonders if the cloth can take it, something like turpentine.

  • Had the ball end of a hex key snap off inside Thompson H3 bolt :(

What’s the best way to approach removal? Try drilling the ball end out first? Or just go for removing the whole bolt? If so how...

  • Got a dremel or something similar? Looks like it would be straightforward enough to cut a slot and unscrew

  • I want to buy a Calvin and Hobbes book for the child, is there a best one to get, or do I start from the beginning and if so, is "Thereby Hangs a Tail" the first?

  • IIRC beyond maybe the first cartoon where they meet, it doesn't really matter what order they go in.

Haven't read it in about 20 years though. Good idea, used to love them.

  • Should be able to use a magnet to remove that? Otherwise some sort of sticky stuff? Turn the bike to its side and give it a good shake/bash?
