And what does that even mean?

Oops, left my time machine running. Sorry about that.

Gluing nutserts into a frame is a very poor engineering solution due to the very small contact area. Much better to use the correct setting tool.

I meant I would use the proper tool in addition to epoxy under the flange, not one or the other

so,
anyone got any experience with ordered chinese knock off lego (lepin?) from anywhere either UK or aliexpress based?
looking and getting quite an extensive sets (creation/technic) this year - hoping not too late to order for christmas?

knock off lego
Just don't. Lego is the price it is because that's how much it costs to make it properly. All the knock-off stuff I've ever seen has been shite

From building up some knock offs last Xmas, they're a bit shit, most of the bits generally work but the tolerances on the sizes are pretty big, so any long or large area pieces that cover a bunch of others might just refuse to fit, at least not without a fair amount of force and not very Xmas words.

This guy doesn't like Lepin:

If you want to go down a similar route, here's an overview of other brands and their strengths and weaknesses:

You can often get LEGO at quite heavily discounted prices. The LEGO shops quite frequently and discreetly do 50% off sets that they want to clear. This never lasts long (for obvious reasons), so you have to be lucky. They typically put them in a corner or in an area not next to the other products of that line and the only way of telling is the price label.
Other high street retailers often offer 30-40% off LEGO. That still makes it expensive, but certainly more worth it. If you can wait until after Christmas, there tend to be lots of discounts in January (as with most other things, I guess).

I've seen pics of a 203mm adapter turned upside down and it matches up to a 140mm rotor on front.
Is this true? Can it be done. It makes no sense I guess.

My wife wants a brown Brooks saddle for her Brompton. She doesn’t ride enough to really wear one in (40mins a day commute-o-bimble).
Is there a basic model that’s not mad expensive and is comfy out the box?
-
• #94242
Only your wife can answer that question, I've never had the need to either break in a Brooks or be broken in by one, they just worked out of the box.

Second hand ones? About £30-40.

Expensive gamble innit

Saddles can be, though a minimally used Brooks should retain some value.

Question on multi meter and a slight cross post from the DIY thread.
I have 2 cables I am try to check which wire goes to the light switch and which is the main/live/
I need Ohms, right? So I select 2m Ohms on the multi meter.
If the circuit is complete (ie on the switched cable with the light switch on) then I should have a reading of ~0.00 Ohms.
Whereas if the circuit is incomplete (ie light switch off or main/live cable) I will see a reading of error, which in my case is shown as a 1. on the left hand side.
Right?
(all with electricity turned off at the mains Obvs)

I've only had 2nd hand ones and all have been fine.
The only one I wasn't mad on was the Colt and that was because it didn't fit my sit bones that well.
I didn't know you could make frames out of drillium?
Anyway , just plug those up with rivnuts and you're golden
