5 Nm maximum for tightning with CF parts being the recco, maybe lubricants are not a good idea in terms of slip?

What is carbon assembly paste, if it isn't grease?

grease on carbon stuff cause some kind of de-lamination, not sure of the details. Try putting grease on a carbon post put it in your frame for year and try and move it. proper stuck.

Thanks for that! so all the major manufacturers say dont use grease! I shall be buying some carbon assembly paste in that case.
Also just poked a rag attached to a stick down the seat tube to remove previous lube. its this grimey vivid blue crap. -

Carbon components consist of carbon fibers held together by an organic matrix of epoxy resin. The epoxy is inert and basically impermeable, but over long periods of time, some of the low molecular weight components of organic lube can migrate into the epoxy matrix. Incredibly little, but possibly enough to cause slight localised swelling, and thus a seized post. -

I did read that, and didn't find it boring. Thanks, sf.

Nelson is a cooler name than Neil. You should rock that name with pride, being known only by your surname is most often a sign of reverence and respect.
You would normally have to become a famous writer, academic, musician, sportsperson, politician etc to earn that accolade.
Or be in prison
or be a cartoon
nelson is nelson's first name
ah yeah i forgot his surname was muntz
Nelson is an admiralable name
Yeah and Neil isnt
that looks gay, maybe stick with neil
meh.
