Merci beaucoup :)
But will 10 speed work? I'm on 9. Yes dark ages but it lasts and lasts...
I can only find the 30T shimano one...I guess nobody uses the granny ring so they don't wear :p

Yes, 9/10/11-speed chains all have the same roller width. Some Stronglight variants come in a choice of 9/10-speed and 10/11-speed, it's possible that the offset differs very slightly between the two but that would only be an issue if you indulge in extreme cross-chaining on a bike with very short chainstays.

I'm looking to get a titanium frame with rack and mudguard mounts clearance for 28mm tires and corresponding fork. Currently, the Lynskey Sportive is ticking all the right boxes, but their own fork isn't tapered, so I've been looking at alternatives.
Would the following combination be death? Or is there something else I should look at?

Cool tx!
Spa cycles has a lot of stronglight rings too btw.
Can you put a shimano double outer on a triple crank? As only the outer is sharked. Another question the Google's are vague on..

Can you put a shimano double outer on a triple crank?
Yes, it's only the middle ring is where freakiness happens on a triple.

Anyone know where I could hire a cargo bike or large trailer for less than the cost of a van?
Or anyone on here willing to rent out their trailer? -

Could try these

Wow, bargainous!
I found a silver Shimano FC2303 (I think Sora?) that should work (it's all silver) tx for the link.

Supplier of replacement Vittoria valve cores (not extenders)?
I can only find them in stock at Tredz and I'd rather not give them my money.

Is there a torque that will hold my disc brake caliper in place, but without breaking the cup-and-cone washers?
It seems to be either one or the other at my place. -

The power cable for my wire light got snapped and I'd like to repair it.
I have a soldering iron (no solder yet).
What's the process?
- Strip wire
- Add in between bit of lengthening wire
- Solder wire together
- Tape / heat shrink
?
Main question is what type of wire should I use? - including the plastic sheath it's 1.3mm, together the inner wires total about 0.4mm (there are x6-10 fine wires my caliper probably wouldn't be able to accurately measure).
And is there anything I need to know about with solder?
Many cheers.

Do they have to be Vittoria?
Almost all Schwalbe presta inner tubes have removable cores. Will they not work?
They will unscrew with a no.11 (I think) spoke key if you have one of the donut-shaped spoke wrenches.

I'm not sure. I'll see what I've got and try them out.
I've got the key from a previous purchase: Planet X or Ribble I think, but they don't seem to have them any more.

This stuff should work fine. You may find it easiest to replace the entire length of wire rather than splice in a new section. If you do need to splice it in, try something like this
for the splice (and then solder that together), slip over the heat shrink and you're all sorted. Don't bother with tape, it'll go manky. If you don't have any wire stripped then a carefully wielded penknife is normally sufficient.
As for soldering, remember to tin the tip of the soldering iron - clean it on some damp sponge/kitchen roll and then dab some solder on the end. This will help the heat to transfer onto the wires. Then hold the tip against the wires to solder and after a second feed in the solder. It should wick into the strands. Keep the heat on for as little time as possible to avoid melting the insulation. -

Can anyone recommend somewhere good at servicing sturmey hub gear based bikes, preferably close to soho (work) or shoreditch (home)?
Bit sick of taking my 3speed in somewhere to get it serviced to find they can't work it out and just order a whole new set of internals and charge me £100+.

@Jezston I took my hub to Fitzrovia - they couldn't sort it because it was fucked but they were good and honest about it and said if I sourced spares they'd sort it for me. I think that's the main issue is that lots of places don't hold spares in stock, which is why they'll sooner suggest to replace it instead.
What's the issue with it? They're pretty easy to service yourself. -

Having tried it before I strongly disagree with this statement.

Just spoke to them. Inspired confidence! Cheers.
Stronglight make ramped and pinned rings, CT2 are the good ones, and French shops are usually the best source e.g.
http://www.acycles.co.uk/stronglight-ct2-shimano-1011-speed-chainring-130mm-11061.html#null
Type S are much cheaper if you don't want the fancy coating e.g.

Gebhardt CNC rings are another option, but they're expensive for what they are compared with Stronglight
