The best url for a site about it, with some pics.

Ta Clockwise, I don't know the area at all, hence the question. I fancy cycling from our gaff in Dartfud to our Daughters Gaff near Guildford, looking at routes again. I did it last year but fancy a more waterside route.

Is there a recommended guide to setting up canti brakes, I'm getting terrible shaking from the front.

I'm getting terrible shaking from the front#
My brother's bike does that when braking gently, sorts itself out if you stand it on its nose :-) The actual solution is to fit the cable hanger to the fork crown, to take the steerer out of the load path.

I have ridden this on a steel road bike with 23mm tyres, but probably better and easier on a hybrid /mountain bike style bike with larger tyres. This section is generally hard pack but can get a little soggy after rain.

Shame as it is fitted with a new headset with integrated hanger and has no drilling in the forks. I was hoping there was a magic cure involving cable lengths or angles or some such trickery.

Ah, thats handy to know, cheers Freezing. I was going to attempt the whole 57 mile 'challenge' on my (t)rusty steel framed Dawes Fixie avec 32mm Gatorskins.

Making your cable route look like this also works:

Looking for restaurant recommendations for Chicago, IL, if anyone can help.

Increase the length of your straddle cable, and toe in pads often work (latter as a last resort and only a temporary fix).

Dura ace cranks
Looking for a chainset for my commuter bike (Charge Plug Zero). It has 68mm width square taper BSA bb, 135 OLD.
Would like advice on what crank will work with this bike, e.g. Dura Ace 7410, 7700, 7701? I think these are road double cranks but as it appears both chain rings fix to the same bolt holes, I'm guessing it will work with just one chain ring? Seem lots cheaper on ebay than the track specific cranks - not looking to spend £hundreds.
I don't mind replacing the bottom bracket, just don't know what will work; is it just a matter of getting the right bb then can use any crank?
It is SS at the moment, will likely convert to fixed at some point.
Apologies for dumb questions; I've only ever had gears bikes until recently.
Many thanks

For commuting with one chainring, Shimano FC-S501 is under £60 inc. shipping and has the right chainline for fixed

135 OLD
I'd double-check that, 120mm is more likely: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_sp-ss.html#spacing
If I'm right (not a given), then the rear chainline will be 42mm.
Road double cranks have chainlines of around 41mm (inner ring) and 46mm (outer ring).
So you can either use the "correct" BB for the cranks and the inner ring position, or the outer ring position with a BB 8mm shorter than is recommended for a derailleur set-up.

PS I have 7410 and 6400 cranks going spare. #spam

It is definitely 135mm OLD. I also assumed that it would be 120 and bought some hubs... And found that it was 135. I think Charge use the same frame for a geared bike, or did at one point.
Edit: pm about the 7410, could be interested; looking for 170mm - 175mm.

Crudely measured with a tape, it looks like approx 43-44mm chain line.
Observe the this bit of map.
See that green dotted line next to the Wey Navigation? Is that cyclabubblebubble? It seems to link up with a network of Cyclepaths further down the canal, 221 being the one I'd like to connect up with.
