Weird one. I'm on a London Speziale ticket with DB from Baden Baden to London. Currently on the way to Brussels. Internet sporadic and tried searching but can't work it out. Is it possible to change tickets for one later in the day for the Brussels > London leg?

Carried a can of Vittoria Pitstop for my 100 which did its job of warding off the puncture fairy.
Which is a good thing, because the top nozzle bit that fits onto the valve fell off at some point. Is this something that I can source a replacement for/does anyone have a spare they could donate?

me and a friend are picking up 2 rental cars from heatrhow on friday morning and want to pick up the remaining 8 people who live all around london mostly ~zone 2.
we don't want to have to drive particularly central, and after picking them up will be heading towards birmingham, where would be a good place in zone 2/3 to ask everyone to meet up that is easily to get to from heathrow ?

What about Park Royal, Zone 3, right on the A40 for M40 & Brum?

I want a touring bike with disc brakes. Cycle scheme so from one of those shops (including BC and Push). Thoughts?
-

Proper tourer - genesis tour de fer.
Fake tourer -croix de fer.

The tour de fer is lovely. Had one shipped to me for a friend a month or two back. Any one have other thoughts? I was thinking a Mercian from Push but I really do want disc brakes.

Surly Disc Trucker but it doesn't come complete like the Genesis and for a lots more.

Will this bike be exclusively for touring? What kind of touring are we talking... gentle rides to B&Bs and pubs, or extreme road-based-bikepacking?
Budget? If low-to-medium, I'd go for something like a Pinnacle then get decent Tortec rack and Ortlieb or Carradry (Carradice's Ortlieb-style non-cloth range) bags off eBay. In 2-3 years time you can swap anything that's not worn out onto a better frame.

Tell them to come with you to Heathrow to pick the cars up?? Having to go back into London would be shit. If you absolutely have to, I'd only go as far in as Chiswick roundabout at a push.

I'd get them to meet you at the end of the line at Uxbridge. The M40 is the best way up to Birmingham as it's not full of lorry traffic (or 20 miles of 50mph roadworks) and you can get on it pretty quickly form there...

I've got a rack and caradice super C panniers. Just want the bike. It'll be for rides around town and proper multi day touring. Was looking at the Whyte Dorset. Don't really like the look of it...

Any suggestions how I stop google synchronising my home page across different Chrome installations on different PCs. I've tried looking at the Advanced Sync Settings under Settings but I can't see anything re: homepage (I'd prefer to still sync a few things so don't want to turn it off altogether).

If you prefer steel, Kona Sutra?

I'm probably going to be getting this when I move. Hydro 105 and has rack and mudguard mounts.

If the 6 passengers are willing to venture out further than Zone 3,
Hillingdon is better than Uxbridge,
1) right on the A40
2) parking available rather than the warden infested town centre of Uxbridge,
3) minor-ish roads from Heathrow to Hillingdon, through Stockley Park then Long Lane,
4) Hillingdon Circus has a Coop, and a few other shops for provisions. -

Any recommendations for a hotel in Bath, near the city centre? Looking for a few days away at the end of June.....

Can someone help me remember a film title please? The only scene I can remember is of a sniper team at what i think was a golf course, they shoot someone but one leaves behind a twisted up gum paper that helps the police identify them. I think they might have been a rogue police team or something like that...

My Genesis Equilibrium came with spacers under the seat tube bottle cage to raise the bottle cage over the front derailleur band. I've lost one, does any one have any kicking about before I get the micrometer out to order an exact replica?
-
• #68748
You don't need a micrometer, some bottle cages have room to allow clearance for the front derailleur.
Use the ring from an inner tube as a shim.

Suddenly everything makes so much sense! Thanks for pointing this out.
