Google earth will open gpx files.
Double clicking the gpx file will NOT work.
Start google earth, choose File open, in the files of type drop down use GPS, select the gpx file,
From the pop up dialogue choose all the options, i.e create KML line strings etc.
Google earth will now display the gpx files as a series of points and a path. -

Shameless repost
Can anyone recommend me a tailor in Central/South? Has to be good because they're going to be expanding my wedding suit to accommodate my enormous arse.

-
• #68231
Glad it worked out well for you!
-
• #68232
Well if by "worked out" you mean "sent you further into your overdraft for no reason other than sheer laziness and the desire to not have to dismount to put the seat up and down" then yes it did!
It was however retail therapy so it cheered me up!

For other people info, what I discovered was that it's not the individual banks that set the exchange fees but Visa/Mastercard etc themselves so google for "Visa (or whatever) exchange rate" and then "RBS (or whatever) foreign currency fee" and you'll get a good idea of how much it's gonna cost you. I think both Visa and Mastercard websites had a handy calculator on their sites.

Question - What axle sizes are on Quando hubs (varno issue flip flop rear and front) 9mm, 10mm or 14mm...?
I need to get some new track nuts.
-
• #68236
Quandos are going to be either M9×1.0 front and M10×1.0 rear or ⅜"×26TPI BSC both ends. I hope Varno has selected the modern option, but KT do still offer the old thread to OEMs.

Grand...
Next question - If I am ordering P Clamps for a 531C frame, does anyone have any idea what diameter I should be going for?
I am in a different city to the bike which is making getting a measurement difficult. -

Has anyone used cnc-bikes.de? @mdcc_tester I think you pointed me in their direction initially.
How did you pay them? they only take back transfer and the invoice amount is in euro, do I do the conversion and send them the appropriate pounds?

Can someone show me picture of a bike with this particular canti hanger mounted? I can't find one.
The mounting point and cable point are quite close (which is good in my case). Not sure if it's supposed to come in on a slight angle...
I'm no good with cantis.

not the same, but a similar design
edit: -
• #68241
Thanks for looking! Yeah, similar design of, but the one I've got has the cable entry point in line with the seat-post clamp bolt (like the first one you posted, not the second). I guess it must just come in on a slight angle. Shouldn't be particularly problematic.

I got one without the adjustment screw and found the top tube cable stops were too close to the seat tube for a smooth cable run between the stop and this hanger. The bare cable ended up meeting the outer at an angle.
I gave up on it and bought the longer Surly hanger instead.

This is one of my worries. It's for a Karate Monkey and the seat-post cluster is already quite close to the brakes. We'll see when I get home.

Best £1000 bike I can get for my mate on the biek to work scheme? Roadie douche-ing him on a budget.

Is "spud" as bad as "brifter"?
I've just heard it mentioned and I didn't like it. -
• #68247
I heard "spuds" as in pedals long before brifters, but I quite like both.
-
• #68248
I say spud for spd pedals, don't like brifter though

If I am ordering P Clamps for a 531C frame, does anyone have any idea what diameter I should be going for?
Order all the sizes (well, everything from 12mm to 18mm), there are several possible seat stays for 531, builder's choice. P-clamps cost almost nothing and it won't hurt to have the unused sizes in your parts bin for future projects.

Is there a thread to discuss the relative merits of pedal/cleat systems?
