Cheapest place to get GP4000S or GP4000S II?
25c plz.
TY hivemind
I'm interested in the same. Cheapest I've found so far is £29.99 each at ProBikeKit with an extra 10% with a code, so £54 for a pair which isn't awful. Let me know if you find cheaper!

I got these:

They work. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive.

http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/products/bike-parts/I think I might get the 'reflex' ones for extra nodder points

700x25 GP4000 Reflex is tester approved. I'm pretty sure the reflective paint doesn't do any harm, so why wouldn't you have it?

I agree, I was being serious.
Plus in the picture it looks like a white stripe, so my bike is definitely going to look like a 1950s Cadillac.

I'm setting up a rear mech and I can't seem to get the h limit screw right. No cable tension, and either the chain goes of towards the frame or if I tighten it, skips all the time in smallest cog. Tighten it more, still skips, loosen it, chain comes off. What am I doing wrong? It's a sora 9 speed short cage with 11- 30 cassette. Chain is in the big ring (48) at the front whilst I'm setting the screws

shift to the smallest sprocket then undo the bolt holding the cable. Then set the bottom limit screw the the jockey wheel is in line with the bottom sprocket, then pull the cable through as tight as you can and tighten up the bolt holding it. Pull the cable where it runs down the down tube to get the derailleur to move to the biggest sprocket and set the top limit screw so the jockey wheel is in line with the biggest sprocket. Then start turning the cranks and shift up and down the cassette one sprocket at a time, if it skips something, especially on the middle sprockets, turn the cable tensioner on the derailleur one click, or half a turn anti clockwise then try shifting up and down it again. Turning that cable tensioner should stop the chain skipping when it is right, then shift the front derailleur to test it out on the other chainring.

^^
Thanks. That seems to have sorted it. Much more straightforward than the park tools guide! -

Will a 1x7 set-up be ok on an alfine chainring. My gut feeling is yes.
-
• #60064
Yes. It will wiggle a bit, as the Alfine rings are 11/128" and 7-speed chain (or 8-speed, which is also fine on 7-speed set-ups) is 3/32", but that's far less difference than running 1/8" chain on 3/32" rings and loads of people have done that without dying.

I've just posted in the ladies specific cycle clothing thread but got a message saying that my post had to be approved by a moderator. Why so?

Too many link in your post?

I knew the alfine rings were weird...
-
• #60068
They're not weird, they're just sized for modern (i.e. 9/10-speed) chain.
-
• #60069
I have an alfine ring up front and a 3/32" cog at the back, combined with a 1/8" chain. Have yet to encounter any problems.

Anybody know / vaguely know max tyre pressures for clincher rims like Campagnolo Omega 19 or Gamma Strada? Fancy trying some of those Tufo clincher-tubs on either of these rims...
-
• #60074
Tufo sewn-up clinchers don't stress the rim in the same way as real clinchers, so feel free to run them at stupidly high pressures if you prefer discomfort and poor handling.
With proper tyres, I'd probably not exceed 8 bar with 20mm tyres and correspondingly lower with bigger tyres on vintage rims, they used to build the sidewalls a bit lighter in those days.

Because-
Manager books up the weekends first, these are the big gigs. Then the weekdays are filled in some sort of sensible order. Then your press agent pipes up and has an opening in Swindon, great contacts going to be there apparently, but it's between playing Liverpool and Glasgow. So you move the Newcastle date to fit in Swindon. Newcastle promoter suddenly only has dates available whilst you're in the southeast.
Then you get an email from a record label, crap band have had to cancel their support on the Thursday, can we fill in. Plus if we get x amount of people turn up (crap band said they could bring this many, so you can bring double, right?) we'll offer you a decent 3 week Euro tour supporting some awesome band for £10k support. So you re-shuffle.
Then your boss at work informs you there is a promo change happening, and as assistant manager you have to help re-merchandise the store, so any gigs then have to be closer to home. Hey, if you land a 3 week euro tour you'll be quitting anyway, but how do you afford rent when you get back? And so on and so on....
cheap cheerful and durable neophrene for commuting. I quite like rush ones. seem more waterproof than PX. 9.99 on ebay.
