  • Lovely. Thank you!

  • No worries!

  • Anyone come across a solution for this sticking shifter situation?

Stuck Shimano 105 9-speed rear shifter - YouTube

The lube inside them can get sticky as it degrades or gets contaminated with sweat, dust etc. try flushing it out with some evil solvent then regrease with some aerosol grease

  • Yes, and there isn't really an 'equivalent' since Shimano don't do a Tiagra grade TT lever, but Tektro do, something like an RX4.1

    Cheers.

  • Is there somewhere nice for lunch on or near the Lea River/River Stort between Tottenham Hale and Bishops Stortford?

  • Should I go for 7710s on my df3 or stay with 75s?

  • Anyone knows how to install/get to work the Vision Metron shifters? I feel very dumb and am almost considering that mine are actually broken...

  • Set the tension as low as possible for a while to allow for the odd panic unclip. Once it becomes second nature, ramp up the spring tension.

I tried but failed. Ive been riding bikes for like 20+ years but I just cant get used to being clipped in! Can never unclip fast enough no matter how loose tension is either.

  • Looks like I'm going be having a longer commute later in the year.
New Barnet EN5 to Farringdon EC1 - about 11 miles each way.

Just wondered if anyone had decent route?
I think its going to be tough avoiding main roads...

  • Had my Christopher Raeburn rucksack with MBP and iPad Air in it stolen last night.

Should I be changing passwords on email/eBay/PayPal etc?

    Fuck. Shit news!

  • Guy on the normal gear smashes it off the line and cruises to victory.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent all in one printer/scanner. Preferably wireless and works with MAC and Windoze. Doesn't have to be photo quality but mrs_com will use it a lot and the one we have is a PITA (shitty paper feed, terrible QC on replacement cartridges). Our's is dying so I now have an excuse to get rid of the fucker.

  • Norfolk Arms on Leigh Street for tapas.

Followed this recommendation - amaze! Thank you :)

  • Swissstop Green and Black pads, which one will be kinder to my rims? I've been told greens wear faster, which leads me to assume they are therefore softer and thus kinder to rims. Is this correct?

  • Its debris and dust that wears rims, not rubber.

  • Have just replaced chain and front chainring. I kept rear cog because it was fairly new. Drive is making terrible crunching sounds under pressure, which I'm sure is from rear cog.

Will it wear itself in and quieten down? Or am I needlessly wrecking my new chain and chainring, wearing them in to the old cog, and wasting money?

Guy at my LBS said it would wear in with time, but couldn't say which option was most economical in the long term- buying new 16t cog, or using old cog.

  • Can you borrow a cog to test your hypothesis?

  • Ok, so next question:

Can anyone lend me a 16t cog?

  • Maybe an LBS would have a semi-trashed one available - might be garbage but the wear would definitely change the tone and feel if your new cog is actually the problem.

  • Again, pardon my ignorance, but is a quill to ahead adapter the same as a steerer extender?

I've got some thread less forks which are too short for my head tube, is there anyway to extend them or run safely? thread less stem stack will work with them, it will leave 5-6mm only after. They have an alloy steerer.

  • Anyone got a spare 31.8mm lezyne front light fitting knocking about? Got some long road rides planned and I seem to have lost mine. Beers and cuddles etc.

Just installed Epson XP800 & XP700 in our two bases, I wouldn't look past them because I've never had any trouble with Epson and they have better software than others. If you buy today you can get cashback, paid £120 for the XP700 + spare cartridges at PC World and will eventually get £30 back from Epson.

  • How much can I expect to pay for headset and bottom bracket facing? Armourtex charge £45 which appears a bit expensive to me, but if everyone else is comparable I may as well have it done there.

Found a £50 voucher from the in-laws. Any reason I shouldn't get this?
