Well it'll probably reduce my CdA by about 0.001, at about 1/6th of the cost of a TriRig Omega which would give roughly the same saving, so I suppose I've just talked myself into buying one.
It's nowhere near long enough to generate any kind of saving, the flow won't attach to it, and the flow is both slow and filthy at that point just behind your elbows and just in front of your knees anyway. Save your money and get the Omega a month sooner, that has a proven benefit.

Ignore tester, it's carbon and shiny, buy it.

Where's best to sell some gold in London? I've been given some jewelry (a gold necklace) by a relative towards a house, have had it valued and it's worth a reasonable chunk.
Keen to avoid any of the online rip-off merchants, would Hatton Gardens be worth a go?

Is the necklace worth more as a necklace or as gold scrap? Thats the first thing you need to ask...

I've got a compression bung problem.
Over the last few months the compression bung on my Dolan has started to slip a couple of mm in the steerer (alu). Every time I reset it it slips by a couple of mm again. On close inspection I can see that the teeth of the bung are slightly worn and the inside of the steerer has polished.
Shall I replace the bung or is the inside of the steerer too smooth now to take another one? Would it be better to install a star nut instead?

I've been told it's worth more as a necklace. Was tempted to keep, but I'd look like a ginger Mr T.

Have you tried carbon assembly paste?
-
• #56835
I've got some carbon assembly paste but haven't tried it. I've only really thought to use it on carbon.
It might work as a temp workaround until I can put a new bung or star nut in. I wouldn't want to rely on it long term though.

People rely on it permanently for handlebars.

Good to know. I might replace the bung anyway and use some carbon paste in that case.
I have been scared to climb hills on this bike for a while for fear of double handlebar punching myself in the face.

I got an Aldi tool set for £19 which had all of those things in it. It's not the best tool set you'll find, and a couple of them aren't the sturdiest, but I've built a bike with it and it's holding up.
All the tools for the price of one (from Park etc) isn't bad.
Problem is I already have one of the Aldi/Lidl tool kits! Half of its been misplaced but its mostly around. I cant fault the allen keys or crank puller in mine, they are just lost lol.
Thought I may aswell 'upgrade'

Might be a bit tricky if the stem was tighten to the steerer correctly Dan.

After some kind of career advice with regards possible Msc... Do not know anyone working in this field in real life. i hope he doesn't put me off!

If your headset compressor is the only thing holding the stem in place, you have bigger problems than a slipping expander.

As always a pleasure.
I prefer this one.

Strange as it sounds Sharpie could be the answer.
Emyr, not sure what you mean. The liners run pretty the entire length from shifter to mech. Obviously they are exposed where they run along the down tube. Purely for aesthetcs the white bugs me, as the rest of the bike has bike has very black parts.
Wrap the liner in black heatshrink where it's exposed? You'd have to be gentle shrinking it, but it should work.

Agreed. On closer inspection I think I have previously overtightened the stem bolts and stretched the stem at some point. Possibly the causative factor for the slipped bung.
Excellent choice :) Where and how much are these out of curiosity?
