Genius or just plain silly?

Is there an italian equivalent to "allez, allez!"?
Not necessarily with the same literal meaning but something that fans would shout to riders?

Vai, vai!Vaffanculo. E tua nonna. E tuo asino.

"Pedalare, pedalare!"

Oh I see. Yeah possibly. But I've bought the Alligator i-link kit now so I guess its tough! It is very pretty though.
I am guessing the gear kit you bought is mini I-link? You could cut the liner at each exposed section (which is what I do for brake and gear) or are you looking to make it a sealed cable. Alternative if it is mini I-link is to swap it or sell it and get a standard I-link gear cable set.

"Pedalare, pedalare!" works, thanks Bothwell

Yeah it is the i-link mini. Could cut it, true. But as you say i'd like to keep it all nice and sealed I think.

I've got it - there should be a little spring loaded nub at that bottom bit that secures the vertical tube, are you engaging that into the hole (like an umbrella?)
Otherwise it seems wrong, send it back., Technically they should probably pay return postage
yep yep, got the nub inserted, all setup okay, still way too much give. Am sending back. Cheers for the note

Anyone seen a better web-based bike config tool than this one?

That one seems comprehensive, but it's a bit clunky, and requires a lot of scrolling.

Can anyone recommend some headphones with the following features / characteristics:
Wireless
Loud & plenty of bass
Built in mic
Some sort of mute buttonI'm trying to kill two birds with one stone:
1) More freedom of movement when using the turbo
2) Something that I can take stupid late night work calls on (again while I'm on the turbo)Let me know when you found something. Bought the Jabra Wireless Plus a little while back which is one of the worst buys Ive done in ages. Sound quality is not good. Fit is horrible. Quite heavy. Cord that connects the two pieces is sticky so when I turn my head to one side, the opposite side earplug pulls off my ear. Indoors the transmission is good, but once I go outside it weakens very much - can't have it in pocket of a jacket without skipping sometimes. Sometimes people hear echoes when they call me. It's extremely fragile - broke off a piece of plastic on one side and ripped 4 ear pieces since late December. Microphone is quite good though, even in windy conditions.

thanks ed. reviews on there:
"These fit my vintage Shimano Golden Arrow levers ...so these hoods fit nicely."
"they work fine with the shimano break handles i have and that made me really happy"
"Fit's perfect for my Shimano nonaero brake levers."as well as people saying they fit their Campag and Modolo levers.

It's pretty much a generic shape, and the fact it's rubber make it fit better.
I put campagnolo hood on cane creek lever, tight but very comfty.

Quill stems- do they loosen and need periodic re-tightening
Yesterday I noticed a creaking noise from my handlebars, this morning I put the front wheel between my knees and turned the bars- they moved with a louder version of the creaking noise.
I've tightened them up, and the bolt certainly seemed looser than I'd have wanted- looser than I had previously done it up, in fact.
Duff stem, or does this "just happen", and needs to be factored into routine maintenance?
-
• #56794
I've had a creaking noise from bar/stem before. I find a good amount of anti-seize and doing them up tight has held it off for a long time.

They don't.

Sound duff, not enough purchase on the wedge perhaps?
-
• #56797
Quill stems are normally more prone to seizing than loosening. Anti-seize and appropriate torque are the only things you can do, really. It might have a poor wedge/expander design.
-
• #56798
Actually, check if the wedge isn't in the butted section of the steerer.
Raise your stem and see if it's still loose.

For an English course I have to prepare a 40 min presentation, supporting a premise. My premise is ''Swimming is good for ones health''
Looking for some strong (scientifically proven) arguments and counter arguments on this thesis. As many forumengers here have strong opinions on such topics I hoped to find some help here. So my question is: Why is swimming good or bad for ones health?
-
• #56800
Look up evidence for the benefits of exercise to cardiovascular health and muskuloskeletal integrity, both of which will apply generally and you'll also find specific examples for swimming.
For the bad - find some data on %age infection rates of public pools with water borne germs? Injury rates from slip and fall on wet tiles? Chance of drowning?
Fatbirds were the cheapest when I looked a couple of months ago.
