This might be a bit of a strange one, I am looking for a long thin noodle shape (sprry' best description I can give) display monitor. A bit like the ones you see in shops or a waiting area wheere info / messages are displayed, but I need one to display a flash animation. If anyone nknows any leads, it'd be much appreciated.

wear it and smile constantly, may get a free toy plane
Flying with Ryanair tomorrow, only taking hand luggage, my helmet can't fit in my small case, can I just carry it on?

What's the cheapest way to get a network storage solution up and running? Could I make use of any of this stuff so I don't have to buy anything else?
• My old MacBook Pro
• Virgin Media Hub box
• Nintendo Wii U
• Netgear wirless router (range is better on this so I run this as well as the Virgin box)
• 2Tb hard driveCould I use the Macbook Pro as a media server? Could I somehow hook it up to my Smart TV, store my media on it and then access that from other devices in my flat? i.e. bedroom Smart TV, other laptops, phones etc.
Whaddaya reckon?

I've worn hats before and they've not regarded it as "luggage". You can also put things in the hat for extra sneaky packing
Like a bomb?

Question: I have bought an old vintage frame from the 70s, the seatpost nut seems to be between a 5mm and 6mm allen key size. Has anyone come across this before?
-
• #46033
Could be a 5mm one that's worn, could be 7/32".
Try to get hold of a 7/32" imperial allen key or a 5.5mm metric one (they do exist). -
• #46034
There area also two x/64 sizes between 5 and 6mm, but that's very unlikely.

ok, thanks, when I give it to the bike shop I will let them deal with it. Because I couldn't loosen it I thought a 27.2 seatpost was too big and now a 27 just slides straight down so it's already been a slight pain, only a ten pound pain though.

Setup freenas or naslite and hookup to the router, give it a fixed ip address.

Just picked up a second hand Dura Ace FC7710 NJS Crankset.
With regards to suitable BB's I ideally would like a sealed one as I will be using this outside in all weathers. Condor Cycles said that the only option is a Dura Ace BB which do not have seals (as far as I know).
Do I have any other options?
Or is it ok to run a DA BB in the wet? -

ebay or gumtree for bikes that don't sell "on here"?
Try Gumtree first, as it's free and there's more possibility for negotiation.
I've had pretty good experience with it so far, including a bike that sold within about 3 hours. Just emphasize that it's not stolen and that everything else on Gumtree probably is.

I'm pondering building a single speed winter-bike/light off-roader, something that will take 2" tyres (probably 26" as I'm a short-arse).
Does anyone have any frame suggestions, the On-one Inbred was the first that looked to fit the criteria but I don't really know much around this kind of area. Cheers

I'm currently working near Paddington basin and and I've noticed what look like mirrored orange reflectors over a lot of bolts on semi permanent structures along the canal. Anyone know the purpose of these? Can't say if I've ever noticed them anywhere else, I've never really looked!

Are they what surveyors point their little tripod things at? That's what I assumed the ones I have seen were
-
• #46044
Haven't seen them, but they might be like the fluo triangles on truck wheels so they can tell if a bolt becomes loose.

I had an inbred (29er) with rigid forks and it did me well, I then figured I was more of a fixedgear rider and built up a BMW gangsta.

Surveyors don't exist, it's a conspiracy. They're just perverts in bushes with telescopes, they've agreed on a consistent uniform of high vis jackets, helmet and slightly vacant expressions.
-
• #46047
Never seen a surveyor (albeit never looked in the bushes) but reflectors aren't attached to the bolts themselves, they have their own mouts that hold them over the bolts. I also assumed that it was some way of telling if the bolts had work loose/been tampered with etc. I'll research some more...wow what a fun filled afternoon I have in store!

Let's resolve this at the pub. Many awesome options.

I live a block away. They have to do with measuring ground shifts as they are tunneling underneath for the Cross Rail.
I asked, as they are on a lot of houses in da hood.
