  • Propose, then hand her the Elizabeth Duke catalogue and say "go on, treat yourself"?

  • Probably more likely to be grip or vibration (pressure on nerves) rather than temp this morning.

It'll still fix itself right? And I can just carry on as if nothing's wrong and it'll just go back to normal? Right? Right?

  • As all things do if you ignore them long enough.

  • Is there a difference between frames that use threaded and threadless headsets?

Just picked up a 1" track frame and wondering if I can use my DA headset and Gazelle forks.

    no

    yes

  • Surprising good answer considering the bullshit you're spouting in the memes thread. I'd rep you for this, but then I'd have to nerg you for the other :-)

But its truuueee... I am going to stop it though because it makes me sound weird. Well weirder than I already do.

No, eventually your fingers will drop off*, and then you'll die because you can't each chips out of the paper any more.

*This was supposed to be a joke, but I've checked and digit loss is a possibility with Vibration white finger

  • Vibration white finger

    Huhuh.

  • My fingers got really cold this morning while on my motorbike (so probably some vibration too) and while they have mostly recovered, the tip of my left middle finger is still a bit numb.

    Should I be worried?

Peak coldness was probably at around 8/815am this morning. I changed to warmer gloves but was out/riding till about 3pm.

Sounds like VBF: do/have you worked with electric or pneumatic tools?

    I'd get it checked out.

Allowed use has been reduced drastically in recent years: we only get to spend 20 mins per hour on a pneumatic breaker, total 3 hours a shift; electric breakers are even more restricted.

On the upside we get to drink more tea/read Nuts & Zoo/watch others work.

    Gulp!

Not at all, I'm a bicycle technician and we don't even have a drill in the workshop!

That said, I do also work on the track surface and use a vibrating sander to do so but it's single handed and I hold it in my other hand.

Ooh and I also ride the derny sometimes and they vibrate like fuck. Hmmm, crap.

As all things do if you ignore them long enough.

That's the answer I was after! I can ignore everything above now!

  • It'll still fix itself right? And I can just carry on as if nothing's wrong and it'll just go back to normal? Right? Right?

That's what I do with 95% of my injuries. It's worked thus far.

  • Hmm, this picture shows the frame built up with a wedge post like DFP sugested.

I'm inclined to go for a slit, I can't see it doing any harm? I fucking hate wedge seatpins.

Hey baba, if you aren't that hot on metal working...then I'll do it for a guiness.
Just so you you don't worry about me fucking it up either ...;D....I have been a car and motorcycle restorer in the past.

  • Have googled VWF and motorcycling and what I'm finding leads me to think it's not this.

Most references seem to be to it being a symptom of big engined bikes with low handlebars, mine is a 250cc trail/enduro bike with saddle to bar rise not drop and it also seems to be more common in the right hand (as it has to hold on tighter to hold the throttle) and it's in my left hand.

Going to fit bar end weights anyway and maybe change to a softer compound grip (currently using Renthal Firms).

  • Wouldn't worry about it, experienced numb fingers and tingly wrists after the 5000 miles I did to Portugal and back.

There will be alot of vibration on a trail bike. Also you may find you grip tighter with your left hand rather than looser, as your wrist may be relaxed in order to do ya throttle.

  • I get that from time to time, not just when it is cold. I find these help

because warm hands circulate blood better

  • What the fuck is going on in Fleet Street tonight?
Road closed, loads of people everywhere either there or walking to it, cars all parked on all the pavements in all the streets round there and Lincolns' Inn.

Fucking cost me an extra £20 in cab fare.

  • What are lighter, DA 7710 or Omnomnomanomz?

  • Who cares about the weight, Omnomnoms are clearly superior*.

  • I went through this drawing but can some one tell me if this will fit me?

I used to ride CAAD 10 in 52 size like this:

  • ^ the use will be track only

  • Who cares about the weight, Omnomnoms are clearly superior*.

Is weight saved in the BB though? Thinking about building my Sirius (which is surprisingly light for a steel frame, 531c...) as a super light super unsafe runabout... I have omniums and 7710s so thought I would go with the lighter option. Just realized I have a spare pair of 75s too if they're a contender.

In the sense that the Omnium 'crank weight' includes the axle.

Really, there's so little difference between Omniums and 7710s that if you had one you'd be ill advised to spend any money 'upgrading' to the other. If you have both, stick them on the scales and decide.

  • what was that thread called where people told amusing and absurdist untruths?
Searched for lie and lies cant find it.
