  • It's a challenge to be original...

  • Anyone know where I can get an ebook version of the NSRV old testament?

  • I just type this in google "NSRV old testament.pdf" they were 3 or 4 good option, I think

  • PDF =/= ebook. It's a workable solution, but not a convenient one.

  • sorry then...

what do you mean with Ebook? what format?

  • Anyone know where I can get an ebook version of the NSRV old testament?

Not sure about that version; maybe try looking for the NRSV one and go from there. Smartypants.

    Or try here http://www.ebookmall.com/bible-software.htm

  • Rik: ebooks are types of files which contain text and only basic formatting, but the size/font/pages can be manipulated by the software being used to view them (i.e., Kindles and other ebook readers). A PDF has strict formatting which makes it less convenient to read on ebook readers (as the page size of the document is not really made with a ebook reader in mind). Also, large PDF files can be quite slow to change pages on my kindle.

And are you calling yourself smartypants, or me, Will? You're the one who corrected me!

  • Btw, that link was for a copy that costs 12 bucks. I'm looking for free if possible.

  • ha ha, what were the chances?

  • If I'm looking for free, then I grab a pdf and open it in GoodReader.

Does Kindle open files? Is there any file sytem and software for Kindle? I dunno...

  • Kindle is compatible with a bunch of different formats. If it's a format that it's not compatible with, I can just convert it. I have no idea what you mean by "open files" or have a "file system and software". The answer is obviously yes to all of those questions?

I have no idea what Tiswas' point is? That's a nice list of extensions.

  • bah! Is the new way of telling people to UTFS answering questions they haven't asked? I am lazy and want the people who like to be useful to do the work for me. I have done some searching and come up with nil (for free).

I'm asking, because I've never played with one and I was wondering, if there are any other reader applications for Kindle or the... Kindle one only. If you know what I mean.

iPad for example doesn't have file structure. Since iOS 4.2 beta there're folders, but you can't just drag and drop any file you want and open it, because you'll not be able to locate it.
    Anyway, I digressed...

  • It would be easier asking these guys.

They're really open minded about things like the NSRV.

Let us know how you get on.

    Pfft, I can take them:

I see. The Kindle really only has one "application" to read ebooks with. In fact, it doens't really have any other apps (not entirely true, there is a browser, shop app [which may just be the browser], but...).

You can plug the kindle into a computer and access it's memory where you can add/delete books (this is one way of doing it - the other way is to simply use "whipser net" or whatever it's called and they're automatically downloaded onto the kindle for you). If you put book in the correct place, it finds them. If you don't, it doesn't.
