  • downhill on a tandem ?

  • She woke up before I could put my plan into action.

Theres always next time, keep us posted

  • Where can I get some bottles like this?

Other than just buying 3 of the pictured showergel, of course.

  • i think it would be easier and probably cheaper to buy three of those. keep the empties from some other shower gel for decanting.

    what for?

  • I just like being able to hang my shampoo up, rather than standing it on the shower tray.

    Thrilling, eh?

  • Radox come with a hinged hooky thing

  • Radox is what I use. Good hook. Soap is alright. No tingly menthol tho.

  • Too close? It's around 1.5mm:

Last summer it was 0.5mm further out.

  • You'll be fiiiiine

  • I can move it back out again.

That said, it never clipped before- the question is will the extra 0.5mm bring it within deflection range?

  • Only one way to find out, ultimately.

  • The bigger the problem, the bigger the hammer...

  • Fuck, I'm going to worry about it now.

  • The hammer will either resolve the problem, or, as the case might be create an even bigger problem, thus making the initial problem seem insignificant.

    Simples.

  • Ive got clearence similar to yours with my omniums, never deflected enough to hit the stay. Depends how stiff your BB area and cranks are. Squeeze it with yoru hand towards the stay and see if you can close the gap, if you can, you should worry, if you cant, worry a little bit and be hopeful you get away with it.

  • I have an extensive range of hammers, from "toffee" to "sledge", not one of which is going to be used to resolve this issue.

  • where will your left foot be when your power causes the most flex to the left?

  • Not sure, thinking about it I imagine that when the non-drive side crank is parallel to the chainstay (i.e. capable of striking it) I'd be either in, or just entering, the period of highest pressure on the right hand pedal.

Therefore, if it's going to deflect at any time, it would be then.

  • It's a very stiff frame, and a very stiff pair of cranks, but....

  • Can't see it being a problem. If you are paranoid about it, can you not just stick a spacer in there?

Excluding at the bottom of the stroke when out of the saddle surely.

  • I would think (no data to back this up mind) that the meat of the power would be (looking at the drive side) between 3 O'clock and half five.

Wrap some electrical tape around the chainstay where the crank might rub, then check it periodically for wear.
