  • You're welcome to mine, how do we manage the handover?

Work for me is in Farringdon, which I suspect is miles away from you.

  • Do people bother to make mix tapes these days?

Or is it only Spotify/iTunes playlists now?

I really want someone to make me a mix tape or six.

  • I've heard people suggest yoga mats before, and that is what I was going to use when I get mine, they can be had commonly for around £10 I think

I'm pondering getting some rollers. I live in a first floor flat with wooden floors, will the noise be loud enough to piss off downstairs? Are there any decent cheap mats (a quick look at Wiggle has mats starting at about £50 which seems steep) to deaden that and protect the floor?

    Cheers

When we were in our previous ff flat (with wooden floors), we used a cheap(ish) TT that was as noisy as fuck. Used a yoga mat (about a tenner from TK Max) that helped. Fact that we had noisy neighbours helped us not to give a shit about pissing them off, but having the mat definitely helped dull down the noise a bit.

Just hit shuffle, then record. Job done.

Are you sure it attenuated the noise downstairs, or did it just reduce what you heard in your flat?

  • Cheers, I get along ok with my neighbours but I'm not organised enough to train at fixed times so I suspect it will be a no go. Will just have to stop being lazy and head out into the dark.

I have to make a mixtape for a friend's going away present (he has asked for one), I can make you one at the same time if you like. I can't promise quality and it'll be in CD format rather than tape, but I'll try to miss off the beginning and end of songs for the good old "taped it off the radio" vibes.

Actual tapes or just hour long mixes put on CD/USB?

    Sounds perfect :) x

  • I had an ex who was a music freak and we traded mix-tapes. As in, actual cassette tapes. This was only a few years ago so the art isn't dead.

It was very romantic until she turned into a stone-cold bitch. Oh well!

  • How can i widen the rails on my San Marco regal saddle to fit my seat post clamp. They are too narrow, ive never had a problem before. I don"t know why there are different widths? surely you shouldnt need a different seat post for every saddle!

Erranding around in the car this eve, happy to do some A to B south London sorting if required.

  • Taken care of, thanks.

It's increasingly the case, as saddle rails get more refined to please weight weenies they are different sizes and shapes.

Are your rails too thin or are they too close together?

  • We want a christmas cactus.

commonly found in markets and florists at this time of year

  • No no, a cactus for christmas, not a christmas cactus.

  • I have chili pepper lights.

Is it quite old? I've not seen a Regal with the rails too close together for a modern seatpost clamp but I have a pretty old Concor somewhere that is definitely narrower than the modern (~44mm) norm, so I wouldn't be surprised if San Marco made the Regal with narrower rails at some point.

I have more Regals than bikes so let me know if you're looking for something specific.

I perhaps didn't express my self so well.
