  • looks like i should be able to get away with it

  • James, buy just the one, fit it in, if it work, buy another one.

    If it doesn't, return it.

Warning: may required a lots more time getting the mudguard to line up with the tyres properly if you're going for a tight fit like mine.

  • What can I put in the bottom of my wine box to stop my locks rattling so much? Can't be absorbent for obviously reasons

  • rubber mat?

  • An assortment of cosseting, noise-cancelling offal.

couple of old inner tubes attached to the inside wall

  • My housemate is looking to replace her really crap old mountain bike with something that doesn't sound and feel as if it's about to fall apart.

  • Singletrack classifieds. You've got to be quick though.

    Good call, thanks.

Another option is auction where you can buy a nearly new hybrid for £50 if you're careful.

Managed to get two hybrid, a trek step-thru and a ridgeback for £130 altogether, involved I giving it some elbow grease, spend a bit more on new chain, brake block etc. and still end up with a decent bike for around £200*

(spend £70 on top putting it back into working order).

That's not a bad idea - I think this is the limit of work I'd (and it would most likely be me) be prepared to put into it.

It is never going to set the world on fire, but this is £170, and if she just wants it to get her three miles then it'll do the job I reckon

I love decathlon so much. OF COURSE they'd come up trumps.

Oh. My. God. This is amazing. I'm going to sell my road bike and get this instead.

Hats, I may have access to something suitable, it belongs to an old neighbour, and she wants shot of it. It's a bit of a girlie mtb, but it hasn't had any use at all, and will resurrect cheaply. I'll pm you.

This looks good - thanks for the PM too! I will show the pics to my housemate and reply later today :)

    COUGH

I think it might be too expensive, unfortunately, possibly too girly too - but I'll show her and see what she says. Thank you!

You'll end up with twice as many bruises than you have already.

  • How is gear 5? And 8? Could it be that gears 2-4 slip down into 1 (and 6-8 into 5)? That would be one of the roller clutches slipping, and re-lubrication might be the answer.

I believe you have nailed it!
And yes, by green lines, I meant yellow dots.
    Cheers!

  • Did anyone else double-take last night when the telly announced the program "David Attenborough's Egg Hunt"?

  • Some IT help please, I'm out of my depth...

I wanted to secure a website name and have some emails for me and a couple of other people. I used google to set everything up.

I've now got a notification telling me my Google Apps for Business has been Suspended:

"You trial has ended. Please select a plan and set up billing to continue using the service."

I'm not really sure what I need it for and what I'm being asked to pay for. My main aim was to register a domain name to use probably in 6-18 months time. But mainly in the short term set up 4 emails that look professional, rather than my name@hotmail etc.

Does anyone know what the deal is here?

  • you need to transfer to the free package.

  • Cheers.

    I'll look into it.

Can anyone explain what the "business ap" actually does?

  • I think it means "give up all hope of a decent user experience", or it certainly does when I try to use mine.
