Why would anyone use an umbrella when they have a hat on? Surely an umbrella is to keep your hair dry and if you have a hat on then you don’t need the umbrella?
-
• #37756
if this was the case, why are some umbrellas so huge?
umbrellas are to protect your clothes from getting wet too.

Unless your clothes are made of salt surely they should be able to withstand some rain?
Massive umbrellas exist only to piss other people off.

You'd need a second WiFi device in your computer. Or you could use the computer as a bridge to a spare WiFi router if you have one.
Try the WiFi analyzer app, see if there's another network shouting all over yours.
Seeing what channels other people are on can help, often most networks in the area are on the same channel and thus interfering with each other. Find a vacant channel, use that channel.
Going a step further, buy a Tomato compatible router, install Tomato and tune the signal for your flat. You can also boost the power using that and also overclock the router for completely unnecessary tech funzies.

Or buy a cheap router off eBay, you might even have a spare kicking around, connect PC to it via ethernet, bridge the connection, have your own little wireless network in your room.

Basically Mrs Itsisaboutthebike has lost the bloody seat clamp for her bike. The problem is that the rails are an odd rectangular section shape. I've searched ebay but cannot find anything.. Any ideas welcome.
Autocycle and older (1960s) moped seats often used flat rails - are yours drilled at all?

Hi MrE, No the rail aren't drilled. They are pretty much identical to the ones in the picture of that strange wooden seat. This link ^ looks like it might do the job though.. Thank you so much.

Does anybody know of a pannier that doubles as a back pack? A big ask but I need to buy it singularly and preferably for under £50.
Reason being is that I have a Dahon Cadenza folding bike and it would be handy to take the left hand pannier off for folding purposes and use it as a backpack in the mean time...
-
• #37769
Buy a backpack adaptor, save you £25, job done.

Or find a panniers with a shoulder strap, a good number of them should come with them, or at least a mount to allow it.

ill first give this a go as it seems easiest... Though im now on Ubuntu... -

Cheers! Thing is with the adaptor is that I will have to lug it around the whole journey. The shoulder strap would be helpful for sure, but I don't know of any full size ones, and how pratical they would be?

Channels are numbered 1 - 13 (unless you're in Japan, in which case 14). These correspond to frequency bands, but a wifi signal actually overlaps adjacent channels, so when you look at the Wifi Analyzer app, the signals are drawn as bell curves: aim to minimize overlap.

Ortleib Vario, but it might be a bit over budget
so i should just stick with the bontrager race lites that i have on there for the moment
lynskey say the frame can only take 32 mm tyres with mudguards attached, 34 mm without
