I still have the same neoprene socks from 8yrs ago. 1 repair to the front of the sock by the toe. I don't make a habit of walking in them, except the short distance from the bike to a seat.

Buy yourself some decent winter boots instead

Winter boots are heavy, and quite clunky if you get them big enough to wear winter socks.
At this time of year normal shoes plus neoprene overshoes are a nice intermediate step.
Once it gets bitterly cold I'll shelve the Dragons+overshoes, but right now they are working well.

Or put a full mudguard with mudflap on it to keep your shoes dry.

Is it rubino pro or zaffiro pro that's meant to be decent wearing?
I don't know which is meant to be the best but the zaffiro pros I ran for 2 almost years were an extremely hard wearing tyre. They didn't even wear out in the end, I just changed them for white-tread Contis because they were getting the colour of old men's pants and I wanted posher looking tyres again. I still have them in the shed, waiting for a beater.
Good puncture resistance too. With Panaflat tyre lining, I only ever got one puncture - a small screw point first straight into the front tyre, which you can't complain about really. (The Contis I changed them for have managed 4 punctures so far in a lot less miles). They don't try to kill you in the face with tarmac by disappearing out from under you on wet corners like shitbag Kendas do either.
Only downside is getting them on and off - they're REALLY tight! Over half an hour to get the first one on the first time I tried*. I gave up on the second one and had to go for a tea-break, scratch my head and ask on here whether that was normal because I thought I was doing it wrong or had maybe bought a wrong sized tyre. Much swearing was necessary to complete the job.
So I say they're great tyres, except if you want to fix a puncture fast.
*NOTE: This was not helped by them being the first flat/folding tyre I'd ever used and me having to work out how to do it.

I tumble-dried my lfgss cap by accident so the peak is warped. How do I get it back to flatness, tumble-dry and sandwich it?
Stop wearing caps, like you stopped wearing short trousers, because you're not at junior school anymore?

That doesn't magically turn a vented shoe into an insulated one, Ed.

No. Who said I do not wear short trousers any more? Batty riders are the new black.

Does anyone know where I can buy these in London or on-line in Europe as I am loathe to ship them from the US, due to customs, dodgy post office etc ?

Cross posted
Not sure if this is the right thread but anyway...
I want something to connect to the telly for watching downloaded content as well as iplayer/4od etc.
Was thinking WDTV, any other suggestions?

No worries. :-)
Oh, they are also rated up to 145psi too. Which means that fat bastards like me can comfortably run at 120-ish and get a nice cushioned ride without bottoming out if you hit a divot in London's famous London roads.
Now I think about it, I might buy some more this weekend...

Doesn't work if it's actually raining.
Heavier and worse wind resistance than waterproofs.
On the other hand most waterproofs can be horrible too, although shoe covers are awesome IMHO. -

@Cake: Not sure what your budget is but I run one of these jobbies hooked up to my telly via hdmi:
[ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-R3700-Desktop-1-8GHz/dp/B004CQ460S"]Acer Aspire Revo R3700 Desktop PC Intel Atom D525: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics[/ame]
(Now discontinued but they have newer models replace it)
I run xbmc (http://xbmc.org) on it and it plays downloaded 1080p content fine.

^ Oh, and there are xbmc plugins for iplayer. Not sure about 4OD but I would imagine so

What hubs are in the Navigator wheels that Dolan sell?
http://www.dolan-bikes.com/Dolan-Components/Wheels/Navi/Navigator%20Pista%20Track%20Wheels
Are they on a par with respected hubs like Novatec or ones like Quando that people say to avoid?

any of the self storage companies will normally flog you packing materials at a reasonable price but I don't know what you would call cheap. Alternatively go to your local supermarket and see if you can get some free ones, they'll normally see you right if you ask as it saves them paying someone to collapse them and bin them.

I find the cardboard box-trays fruit and veg are shipped in quite useful for stuff like ringbinders, books and stuff in small boxes. Nice and stackable and can be stowed under the bed if you haven't time to fully unpack.

Can anyone recommend a shop or website for digital photo printing/framing? I want to get a couple of pictures from my honeymoon done nicely and it's hard to tell what the quality is like online.
Ha fair enough.
