Why do some groupsets come with one dual pivot brake and one single pivot, and which should be used where? Dual pivot on the front for better braking, or on the back to couter the effect of a longer cable?
Dual pivot on the front, single on the rear.
According to the spiel on the Campagnolo website:
"Thanks to its double-fulcrum architecture, the front brake is able to grip the rim with around 70% of the total braking force; the rear brake, which only has a single fulcrum, stops the rear wheel from swerving - due to the lightening of the rear - thanks to the application of a force that is lower than at the front.
The single pin structure also makes it possible to save a few grams compared with the double-fulcrum one.
The analogy is obvious: think of the ABS on cars which prevents wheel locking when braking and think of all the safety this has provided. Differentiated Campagnolo® braking aims to give you the same safety on your bike." -

Campagnolo "Differential" brakes. Dual pivot on the front for maximum power, less powerful (and lighter) single pivot on the back to reduce brake locking in the wet etc.

I use Deltas on a road bike. And a rosary.

That was so much better than my attempt, ask and mdcc will answer.

Dual on the front.
And its quite common on lower end groupsets/cheaper brakes.

Can you give examples? I thought it started on Record and trickled down.

I've only owned lower end groupsets, so can't say how far up it goes.
Three sets of tektro brakesets and all have been dual front single back. All were cheap.

Wow, they must have been astonishingly cheap OEM sets, since Tektro retails sets down to about £20 are dual at both ends.

lawyers:
does one month's notice include the day of issue?
i.e. if someone has a month to respond to a notice, issued today (4th) does that run out on the 3rd of dec, or the 4th?

They may well have been quite old but were all new and under £10 on the bay.

Bought this USB sound adaptor to play music from laptop via external sound system. (No drivers required according to manufacturer.)
How do I change the settings to get the sound through the external system instead of the laptop speakers?

Out of the box they will only go one way due to 'axle' length. I think Campag were doing single pivot rear coz it's lighter with better modulation and you dont' need huge braking on the rear anyway since the front does most of the work.
EDIT: Oh, I see I was a page behind every fuckers already had a go. stops ignoring forum

Control Panel > Sound > Playback devices?
Right click on little speaker icon (bottom right) > same thing?

Cheers hippy
Tried doing that to no avail.
Right clicking devices give the options to install or un install drivers-
no drivers are needed though -
• #3618
What's in your list of Playback Devices?
Can you just mute the laptop and have it output audio or does that mute all output?

Why is it that some people use 0 instead of O and O instead of zero?
As in... some people write thread titles that say: "0T:", which should mean "off-topic" if the o were and o, but because the o is a zero... I just think "what a weirdo".
And some people write £5O which should mean £50 but actually means £5 O... which is gibberish.
Are there some keyboards I'm not aware of that have reversed these two keys? Some Mac or netbook or something?

All of the keys are close together. About 5.O mm away.
oh, I've already got it set up dual pivot on front with mine (had to get a new bolt for the front for new forks anyway) which seems to work fine. Just wondered is there's a reason.
edit: this is on a road bike innit.
