  • Yelp says this place has closed down: http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/dial-a-bike-london

Is Yelp telling the truth, does anybody know? Can't phone up to find out as can't hear well enough on phones to obtain information through calls

  • If by brake mounts you mean cantilever brakes, Old Man Mountain racks are probably your best bet. Mail order across country lines and even oceans is easy these days, and for me usually half to two thirds of the local price. (I will pay local if it's HERE, but the item almost never exists out here in the hinterland, and most LBSs are loathe to do special orders)

At the moment I have a rack which is fastened to the rear brake bridge, I don't have canti mounts or rack mounts.

I've since seen that you can get racks which fasten to the seat tube or seat post - anyone got any experience of these?

  • Any recommendations for a rear wheel? £200 budget thereabouts, it'll be for my "nicer" bike, might just get an ellipse rear or maybe a goldtec to ambrosio excellence from outspoken cycles and suffer for a while until i can afford to match it up? Stripped my hub last night, mustn't have quite fastened it back up after polo the other night (b&!!s)

    Cheers Pete

  • I just ordered some kool stop salmons to go on my my miche long drop front brake caliper only to realise it comes with one-piece pads. ffs.

what's the cheapest option for brake shoes that I can stick the kool stops (the 105/ultegra/dura ace road insert type) in that will work with that setup?

my bike doesn't like stopping in the wet without a banshee screech that scares everyone in a half-mile radius on the stock pads :(

Ok, if by that you mean cantilevered types where the ONLY attachment point is at the post or seat tube; I wouldn't particularly recommend these because of load limits (how much do you want to carry?) and the possible stress on your post or frame, especially if there's any carbon fibre in the mix. Look into Tubus, local and hopefully cheaper than the rest of us could get it for. Get some of this hardware and you'll be able to attach anything to anything.

  • The Clarks ones from SJS?

    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/clarks-gold-road-brake-caliper-pads-with-alloy-cartridge-holder-cps459-prod25364/

£1 cheaper and free p&p from CRC but ordered, ta.

  • Where can I buy asshats or do they come free with every sales team?

  • That depends on what package sir chooses

  • Is there anywhere in london that would cut the dropouts off a road frame and fit track dropouts, and would they be able to respace 130mm to 120mm at the same time?

somewhere i could call for a quote preferably

Should the hole be started on the indentation on the back of the fork?

    No, and
    Yes
It will be fine. They are clearly cast to be drilled, so their drilled forks will just be the same casting but drilled.
