^^I'm going by advice I read on the internet, but seems to have worked. Better than the prognosis from the bike shop.... What would you reccommend?
Did you test it after simply flushing out the shifters with RP7 or GT85 or whatever?

• #31003
Yeah it worked, I gave a squirt of the grease for more long term lubrication thinking gt85 wouldn't last...

Which is a better thermometer, oral or rectal?

oral then rectal, never the other way around.

My other half is nagging me to go on a "hot holiday", which means sun, sand, beach, maybe a spot of sight seeing. Sounds awful to me, but in 9 years she's mentioned it hundreds of times and it's never happened. I always end up going on city breaks to see friends, bike touring, that sort of thing. So... I've said I'd be up for it in theory, if I can take a bike.
Where would have sun, sand and beaches, possibly some nice touristy things too, for her (and me, post-ride), and some cracking early-morning rides for me? Maybe some nice climbs too...
North coast of Majorca, it's beautiful and it's a popular training camp destination. Or so I've heard. Seen plenty of people training there.

anyone know a good route from camden to shoreditch/hoxton/haggerston way?
i live a bit north of camden so taking the canal seems to be a long winded way of doing it, although i work next to where the canal comes out at near haggerston park...
but theres that bit of canal in the middle that doesnt exist so would have to dismount anyway..
Easy, quick, or quiet?
-
• #31008
Um, id rather a combo between quick and quiet, i could do with the exercise so more leaning to the quiet!
I was thinking of heading down york way as it starts near my house, onto copenhagen street then joining the canal all the way up to haggerston..
-
• #31009
Sounds like a good route if you're a fan of the canal.

Anyone care to recommend a helmet before I default to one of these via the crash replacement program?
my LAS victory is generally agree by all who try it on to be stupidly comfortable
-
• #31012
I've spoken to Specialised now, bust 2D+£60=S3, bust 2D+£115=Prevail.
Is the Prevail twice the helmet that the S3 is?

Depends on what you're into.
Rectal is more accurate, temperature-wise, though. I don't know if you'd find it more or less fun.
