If nothing else does, going somewhere quiet and riding round in circles with the brake on should do the trick.

Brand new, unused frame. Probably tired brakes, they are 15yrs old.
-
• #30579
Only just installed everything on a new frame, it's all tight. The brakes are old but they didn't squeak on the other bike.
Front brake?

Rear, running disc up front due to lack of canti mounts

Has anyone used Atlantic Boulevard for getting a frame painted?

a quick search of 'atlantic boulevard' suggests yes, and good references

i'd always assumed that firmer tyres would deform less and therefore be quicker.
On a steel drum, yes, although the returns diminish fast . On real road surfaces, we trade a bit of hysteresis loss in the tyre casing for some mechanical gains from improved suspension.
when you say that it works for you is that just based on feel or do you have a more mechanical reason why a lower psi might be better? thanks!
Even more geeky people than me have done proper tests with power meters and everything and found that excessive tyre pressure costs time. Below the fastest tyre pressure, there's scope to go lower to improve ride and handling.
if you dont mind me asking more details, does your race psi differ from a general road riding psi and why?
Yes, but with different tyres and a different emphasis between fastest and nicest.
All-up weight is about 100kg on road or TT bike, giving:
Road 100/(25/25) = 100 psi, correcting for 60:40 weight distribution gives 120/80, I actually use 6bar (87psi) f&r
TT 100/(22/25) front = 113psi 100/(24/25) = 96psi rear; correcting for 55:45 weight distribution would give 102psi front & 115psi rear, I actually use 8bar (116psi) f&rsurely 70psi on 22mm Gatorskins isn't ideal from a practical point of view. I'm only 9 and a bit stone but that seems like a worryingly low pressure for tubz.
Try it and report back. If you hate it after going 100 yards down the road, add pressure until you stop hating it. Bear in mind that you can usually safely run tubs a bit lower than clinchers, as they have further to compress before the rim hits the ground for a give cross section.
As I said earlier, there are a lot of people out there running their tyres much too hard, but in the end some people just like to have their bike handle like shit while rattling their fillings out, even among pro riders who get advice from proper tyre technicians.

So my stem is looking weird, some of the surface layer(?) has come off, leaving a weird plasticy looking grey under layer.
Are you sure it's that way round? Looks more like some primer off the inside of the steerer has come away with the stem.

I'm thinking them or Bob Jackson. There isn't much info on the AB website so I've emailed them to find out their colour list and pricing.

Could running hard tyres translate into numbness in my hands?
I've just started using a track pump and pumping my tyres (700x23) up harder as it seems to have reduced punctures but have noticed that my fingers have been going numb faster than normal recently. -

Could running hard tyres translate into numbness in my hands?
Yes. You've reduced your suspension travel and increased the spring rate.

Yes.
My mate Mayuko got her Feather frame done there.
Not the cheapest but very very good. -

Anyone recommend somewhere to get a cut vinyl thing made? I have no experience. Seems like a similar sort of thing to a printers, but they don't seem to offer it.
As in, we can design and supply vector graphic, just need 1 or maybe 2 cut. Sticky-back stuff, probably about A3, to stick in a window.Used service graphics for the last exhibition I did. They were excellent, and the guy they sent out to stick it on the windows was interesting too.

Legally, how long do you have to keep a pair of wheels in your spare room before they become yours?

With the ones on iains katana i claimed ownership the second he left my flat.

So my stem is looking weird, some of the surface layer(?) has come off, leaving a weird plasticy looking grey under layer.
Is this likely to be structural or cosmetic? I've replaced the stem anyway, as I don't want to faceplant, but it would be good to know.
I assume I did this by overtightening it?
It appears to be a really weird stem, they have applied some kind of chromoplastic coating over the aluminium. They could've just mirror polished the metal and anodised it making it last pretty much forever. I have never seen any metal component that had this finish very strange. But it a purely cosmetic issue.

Had a hectic week, haven't cleaned yours yet. Put the corsas back on them though so first step down the path. Doing a bit of touring/tenting this weekend so that's a few more days without me dealing with anything. Sorry :/

thanks, will give them a call. are they nice but pricey?

We didn't have much by way of budget, but they're a supplier we've used for a while so we may have got things done for less than the usual. I wasn't involved in the costing process so can't comment.

No worries, I used that as the excuse to not do my 2X20 tonight.
The real reason is that I'm knackered, but don't tell Rob that.

Do my wheels not work in your turbo? :/
Derny last night almost killed me. -

I thought it would be rude to use your wheels in my turbo
V brake bosses could be worn?
