Does anybody have a cardboard wheelbox near SE8 that I could pinch? Need to send Malaysian a wheel. Will swap for some tins or a loaf of homemade bread.
Cheers for this boss!

I think I've scratched my Mavic MA2 rim to death on my Thorn. Is there a rim that looks similar (plain chrome) and will slot straight into the hub/spokes already there? It's a 36-hole. And who would be good to take it to once I've found a rim?
Could just get another MA2?
halo make a retro rim which is supposed to imitate stuff like the ma2. but it has a different ERD. Maybe you could reuse the same spokes but with an extra cross. If you had 2x maybe 3x would work?

They don't make the MA2 anymore, do they?

Anyone fancy taking a crack at translating this in a way that makes more sense than Google Translate?

Has anyone any experience of amazon pick up locations?
Amazon.co.uk Help: Amazon Locker Delivery
I'm temped to try it as delivery to home/work is always a hassle, but this could easily go the same way.

I was wondering about that when I saw it in Wandsworth, thought it was an advert.

This made me laugh. It's pretty colloquial German, and it's pleasing to hear that Google Translate can't cope with it.

"SRM Power Control V, not wireless, with a cable."It has a loose connection somewhere. I haven't used it for a long time.
"It has some visible wear, as the casing is white.
"Comes without any accessories, just the Power Control V."

Is there a rim that looks similar (plain chrome)...
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/RIGBPAP/grand_bois_papillon_rim
Retro and plain, but wider, and slightly smaller ERD. I'll rebuild your wheel when you've decided!

They look like they'd do the job. Could you get away with using the same spokes? What do you charge for a wheel build?

Anyone used Argos for bike painting? How long does it take and how tough is the paint?
-
• #29942
@ Sparky, going by the ERD figures on the interweb, your spokes may be 3mm too long, but you don't know until you've got there whether they can be re-used.
Back in the smoke, hiding successfully in SW4, and building wheels for a tenner a go.

modern paints are no longer as tough as the oldie, mainly due to health and safety that doesn't have harmful substance in it (the kind that actually made the paints tough as nail), and thus chip easily.
Argos however is fantastic, and highly recommended.

For some reason, where ed typed 'paints', I read 'pants', which made things slightly surreal

I need to send a package from Kentish Town to Farringdon today, I don't have my bike and my company doesn't have an account with any courier companies, who will let me just pay for one delivery and also come out to Kentish Town to pick up? I've seen couriers around these parts but can't remember the names of the companies they work for.
