By the way, don't google surstromming or rakfisk if you're emetophobic.
Surstrømming is just rank. Its best opened in a sink full of water. But it still does nasty explosive fart.
Rakfisk is gorgeous. Piece of flat bread, touch of butter, chunk of fish, thin slice f red onion, and a slice of boiled potatoe. Lovely.

Its deadly if done wrong, admittedly.

What's an easy cake to bake? We've got a bake off going on at work at the moment and I'm a complete novice.

Guaranteed. Easy and delicious.

What is the name of the process, for example in a university, where exam papers, after having been graded by one examiner, are then sent off to another to check that the marking was done properly in the first place?
Where I used to work it was called 'verification', but as already indicated, it's probably a different name from institution to institution.
Be aware that it can be a very frustrating process.

What is the tempo?

since people are talking clip systems... which are considered to be the most FG/SS friendly?
whilst I like my Crank Brothers egg beaters, I know that they are no good for FG, and I suspect that they may be involoved in my shoes snapping.
Pondering going down the road/3 hole systems, how much better than 2 hole systems (eggbeater/spd's/etc) are they?
The stiffnes and fit of your shoes is ten times more important. The added mount area of 3 hole systems gives a slight advantge. But its not massive.
My fixed gear has Crank bros quattros, and I have some 3 hole mounted cleats for them. So best of both worlds. Plus I can use any of my crank bros cleat fitted shoes with the bike.
Its been covered on other threads. But a MTB pedal, with a patform, gves the best compromise, of performance, and convenience IMHO.

If you make something with a sponge. The addition of a heaped tea spoon of mayonaise to the mix. Makes it far less likely to come out dry.
Cheese cake is both tasty and idiot proof.

Ive read a lot of people commenting that delta's work better. No idea if its true, but thats what googling gave me when I was looking into buying some.
i've only used deltas a few times and couldn't really tell much of a difference to be honest. i'd go with keos purely because the cleats are easier to get hold of, and i think look are phasing out deltas. the keo pedals are also lighter if that's your bag, although the price of the new ones seems to have increased quite a lot since i had mine...

My mum's obsessed with watching Rocks & Co. (one of those abject channels selling shite jewellery), with no intention of ever buying a thing. Is she depressed?

Maybe she fancies the presenter ?

^^I PMd you a photo of her yesterday, don't pretend you've not been grovelling for more.
^She makes no bones about being besotted with the only male presenter, who is funny only to my mother and wears shirts only his mother could compliment him on. He used to be on morning television, which shows that freeview is the graveyard of all put in the shade by the gravitas of Eammon Holmes and all like him.

Keep the same cleats and get Candy 2s. I swear by them.
I used them on a fixed, FGFS, folder and a road bike. Since I don't race I can't see any benefit in switching to carbon Look Keo and such. -

Baking is easy.
Challenge yourself, and you'll be amazed what you can cook.
Personally I'd go for something a bit out there and different. -

What kind of RPM can top track racers achieve/maintain (say over a flying 200) ?
-
• #28571
Not sure of the top of my head. Not too difficult to work out. Say it's a 10sec 200m on a 105" gear... gimmie a moment
-
• #28572
My calculations say 143rpm @ 105", but that's just the average...

• #28573
Where can I find a silver, ladies-size (36 cm-ish), compact road bar? Preferably oversize. Cheap would be a plus...
-
• #28574
So if you hit 35mph on 70gi what sort of RPM is that? about 170?
-
• #28575
Yes. 169.6rpm
Aha, thanks very much Hippy, one of those will do I'm sure, I'll have a look at that site.
