I have a pair of campagnolo monoplanar style brakes. I cannot get the cable clamping bolt undone. 4mm allen key is too small but 5mm is way too big.
Is the socket more likely to be 4.5mm or some imperial size?

It will be metric, how badly is it corroded?

My rear Blackburn Flea won't charge or turn on. When I put it on the charger a dim green flashing light came on - the same as when it is almost fully charged but the light was much lower intensity. Now when I put it on the charger it has a steady green like it is fully charged but again at a much lower intensity.
It won't turn on or respond to pressing the button at all.
Any ideas? Is it fully shagged?

buy a new light, try it again in a few weeks and either accept it's dead or be surprised that it works again.

I've been contemplating the Exposure Flash/Flare combo for a while, didn't want to spend that much this month, but I guess I'll have to as I need a rear light to get home tonight.

I didn't mean to sound pessimistic, but I've had 3 blackburn lights die on me now, I know what they're like.
I know I've said it a lot in this thread, but the best lights for city use I've found are the Moon ones.
The Moon Mask 5.0 front and Moon Shield rear. Easily bright enough, strong built in strap, charge quickly with any micro usb cable, last for about 8 hours, very waterproof, let light out the side but shield it at the top so it doesn't blind you, the list goes on. They're the first one's I've found where there isn't an obvious design flaw.Exposures can have a problem with waterproofing because you have to twist the whole front part to turn them on/off.

Thanks for the tip, dude. I know plenty of people who have had Blackburns for a long time with no problems but my first set were faulty so Evans had to order more in and these ones have never held a long charge. They're only on flashing for about 45 mins before the charge indicator turns orange. About time for a change I think. I've put the rear one on the radiator in case it's some water ingress that's causing the issue.
Those 2 look like a good re-chargeable combo, but who will have them in stock that won't rip me off?

• #27110
well they're on the evans website so maybe in store? Fitzrovia posted about them on their site, so maybe there?

There are a lots of items on the website that tend not to be in the shop, so you may have to order it in.

Also, can anyone tell me what you would have a 24.0mm clamp for on crosstops?

Is there a chance that it is a torx screw and not socket headed?

No. But you can't send it back to "Them". It has to be done via the UK distributor Madison.
I hardly used mine, and it just stopped working. It was one of the old battery charging ones and I was kinda hoping for a new USB one.
Still £11.50 is £11.50 :)
...and I guess there's something to be said for buying from a quality brand.

Thanks for the info, bud. I will PM you now.
However, this doesn't solve my lack of rear light in the mean time issue. I will still need a new light!
I put the Flea on the radiator and it has misted up inside so I'm guessing it got wet. Not very impressed! Here's hoping that leaving it on for another 2 hours then putting it back on the charger will do something!

£13? A bargain!
Hansgrohe take the piss -after you've bought an iBox, valve, and finishing set for >£350...
What you have there is a dead common 3/4" to 1/2" male reducer. Any plumbers merchant will have them - If I'd seen this earlier you could have had one of probably 1/2 a dozen I've got in my plumbing box, pick up from my arch in Bermondsey.
If all your pipe work is 15mm you could just use a 3/4" (male) to 15mm compression or solder fitting and do away with the reducer bushing.Have fun!
Half the battle (if not more) is finding out what the common reference term is for these items- tricky to search for something that you don't know the name of.
Armed with "3/4 inch to 1/2 inch male reducer" I found one for a couple of quid in a Leyland SDM round the corner, however it is too short, annoyingly.

Before I book out almost my entire annual leave allocation on summertourtime, when's best for cycle touring Europe in summer in terms of avoiding school holidayers? I know UK is mostly from 24 July but no idea about France/Spain.

How too short? Are you putting a 1/2" to 15mm compression fitting inside? As long as the 3/4" threads bottom out (into port on iBox) with a nice tight fit (plenty PTFE) then anything else will just tighten into the 1/2" threads. However I would probably just use one of these;
http://www.6thplanet.com/store/product/plubr1bspmto22mm_l.jpg(3/4" BSP to 15mm compression) Ditch the bushings/reducers and use this straight into the iBox then pipe off that...
Where abouts are you? I might know a good local plumbers' merchants.
(trust me I'm a builder.....)

In France they have fairly fixed holidays and there are a few big weekends when everyone travels so you should avoid being on the road then/those weekends.
According to my mum, the big travel dates are around 14 July, 1 August, 15 August and 31 August (15-31 being the big 2 week shutdown I guess).
