  • 4? Hot, Cold, Filtered, Beer?

  • Hot, cold, hand held, overhead

  • Why would a part designed to go in the wall be chromed?

  • Don't think you would but I can't find that part specifically, 1inch to 3/4inch reducer boss I think. The name you gave doesn't bring back any results and usually you only need the 3 you already have. Haven't used their products before, but a look at the pdf doesn't make it clear what you'd need. Perhaps call one of the companies?

  • I've just had a quick ring round- they are shut, or not answering the phone anyway.

The iBox comes with three reducing boss' and one blanking plug, for (presumably) the most common setup which is one shower outlet.

I need two outlets, so I need to swap the blanking plug for a reducing boss.

Hansgrohe will sell me one direct, for £13, and it'll take a week to get it- I don't mind paying that (although it seems steep) but I'd like to be able to go and get it today.

  • That looks like it'd work perfectly. RS are online only though I assume?

  • They have some trade outlets:

    Watford
    Bow
    Gatwick
    Heathrow

  • PC related question:

I have a IDE hard drive hooked up inside a tower via a PCI card which has Sata & IDE connections on it. AND extra usb jacks. The board itself has no IDE sockets.

I just reinstalled windows and now this card and the stuff connected to it are not being picked up. I cannot find the driver disc (if there was even one supplied). I found the box and it was empty.

Any idea how to get this working again? Can I do something in BIOS to make it work?

  • Go to management console and see if the card actually appears, if it does you can probably get the driver sorted out from there.

  • I spent the past 40 minutes trying to make sense of management console, cannot get it to do anything.

  • if you wanted a set of 1" threadless forks, could you just get a pair of 1" threaded forks that were much longer than you needed and just clamp onto the exposed part?

Also, would it make any difference if you clamped over the thread, or would you have to clamp onto the straight metal?

(I know you'd need a different top of the headset)

File away the threads so you have a flat surface at the top and you'll be fine. Though better to get hold of a 1" threadless forks. They're not hard to get hold of.

Maybe google the brand/model number of the card and download some drivers that way?

  • Sounds like £30 is well worth it if you avoid that hassle and get to leave your bike in one piece.

Yep. But I had already completely disassembled the bike and put it in bin bags. Spending today putting it all back together. On the positive side, I've finally cleaned everything.

£30 is good if you're willing to pay it and set it up in advance. Next time I will buy a proper cycle bag. And not try to do it on a fixed that really isn't set up for that kind of riding. :^

  • hi Tom

    Hola!

  • Maybe google the brand/model number of the card and download some drivers that way?

Its too generic. Google has prevailed for my other drivers but not this.
