  • Then again it depends on who is behind the zip..

  • I was just looking for zip porn.. there wasn't any suitable images. Sorry to disappoint.

Check out zip tongue girl though.

  • They're both fucked in cross winds.

Firecrest versions are mostly about improving crosswind handling and performance

  • Mine are a couple of years old. What did they do to make them better in crosswinds?

  • Complete change of the rim shape, the 808FC actually has negative drag at some yaw angles, but also apparently they concentrated on getting the centre of pressure at high yaw close to the steerer axis so the wheel doesn't try to steer itself.

And who would live behind a zip like this, knowing my luck it would be scoble.

  • Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new (to me) bike and I'm having a little trouble with my rear derailleur. It doesn't change gear easily, despite many attempts at adjusting it. The problem seems to be that it doesn't move far enough when you change in the opposite direction to the previous shift. So, for example, if you change down 3 times it moves across fine but if you then try to change up it doesn't move far enough to change to the next cog. The same happens in the opposite direction. I don't really know what to make of it but could it be the lever itself and not the derailleur? Any ideas?

    Dedication - Roy Castle

    it's what you need...

It could just as easily be the cable. If the cable housing/liner ends haven't been finished properly, or if there's a kink in either a section of inner cable inside housing or a section of the cable housing, it could exhibit the symptoms you describe. If the bike was posted to you, a cable could easily have got kinked in transit due to poor packing.

I'll take a look in the morning and see what I make of it, hopefully an easy-fix! Thanks for the help.

Are the derailleur and the shifter and cassette of the same brand?
Is the cable secured correctly - passing under the pinch bolt? (getting this wrong can affect the pull ratio) See eg point 2 of http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/SI/2300/SI_5XA0A_001/SI-5XA0A-001-ENG_v1_m56577569830673817.pdf
When you shift into lowest gear (front and rear) how close is the upper jockey wheel to the largest sprocket? If there's a large gap, the b-tension screw may need loosening.
Are the Jockey wheels so old and worn that they flop from side to side excessively? If yes, replace, or dismantle and grind the steel cylinder bit slightly shorter.
Is the gear hanger (bit the derailleur is screw into) vertical or bent & twisted?
Is it just all grimy and in need of a good clean and fresh lubrication?

  • Bought an item on ebay, as used but in good working order.

On receipt it was discovered it was needing a refurbishment. Contacted vendor who was only willing to refund 1/4 of the costs.

Disputed this on ebay, and the vendor immediately made a full refund. Vendor's ebay listing stated he would not take returns.

Have now arranged for the part to be refurbished. Subsequently the vendor has made contact requesting the item be returned.

Given the time spent arranging the service I wish to proceed with the refurbishment and to repay the vendor the cost of the item minus incurred costs. Is this acceptable?
