oz. That was exactly the thing I was looking for, just I was mistakenly looking for the wrong thing.
My fault totally

(tester will know)
The wheel moves by approximately ⅛" per tooth, so using 16 & 18 would require a range of about ¼".
-
• #23604
I've seen 9t difference but the wheel was barely in the dropouts

Thanks for all the help
goes to buy things and stop bothering folks for an hour or so

are dp18s heavy? re http://www.lfgss.com/thread78523.html might be using them for track/street. Not sure If I should go for ellipses or get phils or similar(royce, mack) to a niceish rim.

Sony laptop, DirectX drivers are creating massive latency issues with Traktor.
http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon says 18ms for dxgkrnl
Tried all the obvious stuff like bios (locked down), 32 bit Windows in virtual machine, latest drivers for everything, disable everything, etc.
Any ideas DJs/geeks?

If you're going to race, get Ellipses. Nothing that's not made from carbon will be faster. They are also strong enough for normal road use.

Not really noticeable imo. 580g. A Mavic open pro (basic rim) is 435g.

Is there any convincing science which explains the 'time flies when having fun/drags when not' paradox?
-
• #23611
You're not watching a clock when you're having fun?

Thanks. Science I understand.

Do you mean to say that it moves a quarter per tooth, so you'd need a range of half?

Running real-time audio in a VM will always be slow.
You need ASIO drivers, you'll never get low latency with DX. get a new soundcard.

The mouse on my GF's laptop (sony Vaio) is wrecked and it's her birthday next week. Any suggestions as to the best external mouse?
She travels a lot (both daily commute and abroad) so portability/battery life is important, but it will also be used daily (home, office and travel) so doesn't want to be so small that it is fiddley or uncomfortable.
I hear logitech are good but even they have around 15 mice that might fit the bill and frankly I have no idea about the relative pros and cons of lasers, GHz and bluetooth etc.

I just had an email from TfL about a complaint I made against a bus driver. They say that the reg number **LJ04 YMZ isn't recognised, but I'm pretty sure I took it down right. Any way to see who that belongs to?

put the reg into google and this is the 1st result...

No, I mean exactly what I said.
1 extra tooth = +0.5" circumference
180deg chain wrap, so extra chain needed is half the change in circumference = 0.25"
Extra chain length is taken equally from upper and lower runs, so change in effective chainstay length is half the extra chain length = 0.125"This approximation is exactly true when the chainring and sprocket are equal sizes, but the error introduced by the chain being angled and the wrap being not exactly 180deg is trivial for normal chainstay lengths and bicycle sprocket/chainring sizes.

**Try to pay the Congestion Charge for that reg - asks you to confirm the vehicle type

Debating whether to go to the GP about a swollen eyelid I've had for a few days. Wasn't brought on by any impactor anything... I rarely visit Dr's but problems with my eyes always scare me. So am I worrying too much or should go seek professional advice?

Bus spotters are wonderful. :)

I just tweeted it, and I've written to TfL to ask what's going on.

Getting an appointment with a GP can sometimes take ages - you could try an optician. My girlfriend had been having probs with her eyes recently and happend to pop in and the optician who quickly diagnosed the prob, offered her advice and months of sore eyes evaporated in days.
I'm not sure if they'll charge you for an eye test though.
Either way do go to see someone. It's probably nothing but it's best to have these things checked out, better to nip things in the bud before they get serious.
Thanks stevo_com,that was exactly what I was hoping for. Now to ponder what I should stick alongside the 16T I'm definitely going to put on it.
An 18T may well be what I end up going for, will have to have a prod at GI's for different cogs on the back
