  • How do you stop your water bottles from freezing in cold temperatures? I can't imagine that dumping a whole load of salt in there would be pleasant.

Carry them in your jersey pockets.
    Fill them with warm water.
    Don't put water in them.
    Don't ride.

  • ping pong ball stops it freezing as quickly

  • Ping pong balls taste crap though.

  • MTFU and don't drink water you pussy?

  • You just need to remember to add water and shake to rehydrate it before consuming.

  • turn it upside down so the top won't freeze.

  • Its a very good bar. At £9 odd a cocktail you should expect perfection in my view. Its not often full of dickheads which is nice. Can't vouch for food though but there is a Chicken Cottage around the corner so that isn't happening.

Went there a year or two ago. Food was awesome.

  • Stick with 25c Gators, or swap to 35c Maxxis Locust CX tyres for 3 hours of Hampshire lanes tomorrow?

I reckon there will be some ice out there.

  • ice you say? perfect chance to use those fancy studded ones you got

  • I thought those would be overkill.

  • they would be if there wasn't any ice about

  • good tips, thanks

  • I got the studded ones for when the roads are compacted snow over ice, as we had last year.

    They have a 20 km/h limit.

And anyway, they are in London and I am in Winchester, with either Gators or the Locusts.

  • locusts

  • Locusts. Anything is better than gators

  • That's true

  • Conti's for sure. They rule.

waits for conti ice horror story

  • You have a point- last time it was icy I put a hole in my bibs and gave myself gravel rash, riding the Conti train to disaster.

  • Conti's for sure. They rule.

waits for inevitable conti horror story

Climbers have the same problem. We just keep the bottles inside our jackets.

  • That Boardman is indeed a questionable bike...
