Dunno, Feather is cheap and complete... I'd go for the leader if you're prone to crashing... (sounds like you are, steel is real etc) or you could get the feather then upgrade parts/frame as you go...
prone to crashing?! what you implying sir :O?! Haha, really I got taken out by dirty cars and fellow cyclists! Seriously though, i know what you mean, the feather does feel like a sad compromise, My heart was really on building around a quality frame, and use semi decent second hand parts and upgrade as and when money allows etc.
no point getting the feather if you're just going to change all the parts on it.
Get the leader and build it with second hand wheels and sram omnium cranks and whatever bars/stem/seatpost/saddle you feel like. Shouldn't cost too much overall. You are the voice of reason sir. That was the plan initially, i just kinda got semi disheartened & wavered when i couldn't find My size at Tokyo Fixed's sale & missed out on the 722ts frameset on here. Luckily earlier Marxist fixie pointed me to Bicycle Ambulance in cambridge who might have one my size. so we'll see what happens there.
Or probably grab one for the full £230 from BLB.

What the hell has happened to Google Photos?
I used to be able to upload from my phone to my album and on the right there'd be a little "Link to this picture" option. Now it's all gone Google+ and there doesn't appear to be any way to link to the photo, easily. Yeah, I could inspect it and find the link but what happened to the proper option? Are Google only allowing photos to be shared on their poxy social leper network or something. FFS Google I'll go back to hotmail or something!

Yeah, it's fuicking annoying- exactly why I stopped using Flickr and Facebook for online photo stuff.
However- if you got to Picasa Web, then you can use that just as you used to use G+
-
• #23130
There's no 'link to this photo' in picasaweb either. Fucking G+
-
• #23131
Right, it's because of their new fucking permissions system. The album was set to Limited. Make it Public and the 'Link to this photo' option becomes available. Of course you have to be in the fucking top level view to make this change. Stupid fucking Google+ UI
Suck my balls Google you wankers! New Gmail looks ugly too you bunch of Facebook copiers!

If a large chain of bike shops advertises a bike as having sealed bearing hubs, and it doesn't, am I within my rights to ask them to swap the hubs for ones with sealed bearings before I buy it? They are telling me that all specs are subject to manufacturer change but I cannot find this on their website anywhere. At present they are offering to not charge labour for swapping hubs but I would still have to buy the new ones. I'm not sure if this is relevant but the bike is heavily discounted.

I opened my laptop up the other day to fit a new hard drive in. Went OK - hasn't died on my yet. Everything looked pretty tight in there in terms of space but I'm wondering if anyone has come across a way to insert a little something something else inside...
I have a 3g usb dongle and the dongle itself takes up too much room as the two usb ports are side by side. The dongle can fit, but nothing else can.
What I'll have a tinker with later is deconstructing the dongle and seeing how much of the plastic shell is superfluous. I suspect quite a lot.
However I'm wondering if there's a way to insert the necessary bits inside the case of the laptop so it's permanently active and I just need to hit 'connect' on the 3G software should I want a connection and not faff around with extraneous usb sticks.
It's a 13 inch macbook pro - mid 2009. I'm moderately eletronically savvy. It's all just Mechano really isn't it?

pity it doesn't have a pcmcia port, not much use for them on laptops these days so they're hand to keep a 3g modem permanently in.

Throwing this open to the hive mind as, after a fair bit of googlage I'm still unsure.
I need to write a sentence along these lines:
a range of tissues is examined and observations recorded
a range of tissues are examined and observations recordedIs or Are?
Is the range the subject, making it singular?
Are the tissues the subject, pluralizing my ass?I'm not studying kleenex by the way, I know what I'm gonna find in that.
-
• #23146
reading it aloud 'are' sounds right
-
• #23147
you're using the word 'range' as a sort of collective noun for more than one tissue. While the word range appears to be singular therefore requiring 'is', as it is describing an object that is in the plural, rather than being used as a noun (driving range, etc) you should use 'are'.

Yeah that's kinda my thinking too, though the frame is pretty alright, i'd want to replace most of the parts though, if i haggle them evans people at the wimbledon store down to 250 or summat then sell the bits i don't want to whomever would bite, make some money back, still seems like such a compromise on the initial fixation...<3 Leader 722ts
The yellow Fuji Track you saw in Evans is an odd one as it come with a carbon fork as standard instead of the steel one, if it fit you, I'd go for that, unless it been sold already as I hasn't been there for 3 days...
