Anyone got this before and fixed it? Win 7 (I think, it's not my machine).
All the basic automatic repair options have been tried already."the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"
Happens if I leave my usb on when I turn pc on. Have a look in bios.

Boot with knoppix & rewrite the MBR?
Why Knoppix? Tried Windows boot disc to rewrite MBR - would it make a difference?
Been a long time since I've seen dead hardware. -

I've already modified the boot order so it would load from CD/DVD first. There's nothing else in front of the HDD.

Might need to reformat

reseat HDD connections?
It seems to be accessible - otherwise fixmbr would have failed.
I was going to put it in a caddy and try it but I haz no caddy. -

I'm not familiar with the workings of the windows boot disks - Whereas I know that knoppix is lightweight, and makes rewriting the MBR very easy.
Test each piece on a working box.I'm not breaking my own kit to fix this. I'm going to try software solutions first then maybe buy a laptop drive caddy and try to recover any user files that way.

Which country in the world has the most "real" amount of money, taking into account any debts but not including any assets or stuff like oil. Just the most amount of cash.

You can get a £5 usb / ide cable from ebay that would do the trick.
Didn't even know they existed. Ta.
Screw ebay though. TCR? -

Who can recommend a decent pill box / plugs case (or similar solution) to put my musician's earplugs in when I go to gigs. I have a key fob type but it's plastic and doesn't look too robust plus it's big enough to fit 2 sets of plugs in it. I'd like something snug enough for just one pair.

RE: my fucked ankle
In a crouched postion crouch with one foot on the floor and one knee on the floor then push the vertical leg forward so it bends at the ankle. With my right (normal) foot on the floor once the bend limit has been reached the discomfort/thing telling me to stop pushing further is at the front of my shin where I'd expect it to be. With my left (fucked) foot ont he floor there is a massive tightness at the back of my calf and I never reach a point where there is the discomfort/limit feeling at the front.
Do I just need to stretch?
Apologies for asking questions that I really need a doctor to see but this is shitting me up.

it sounds like tightness in the achilles tendon or the muscle at the back of the leg
wait for a proper diagnosis, but there are many possible stretches to help
also http://tptherapy.com/ do a foot and lower leg kit - amazing for plantar fasciitis or back of the leg issues
they also do a roller called the quadballer, it makes hard-men cry with pain

i would suggest a hot bath and gentle self massage for the moment, then ice pack

Thanks James, as you said I just need to wait until I see the doctor tomorrow it's just the last thing I need in the most stressful 2 weeks of school.

Using my CD drive cable. It's working.
I wonder how many viruses I'll get for being helpful..
Yeah, done the boot disc thing and let it run its repair stuff. Also tried the /fixmbr stuff from a dos prompt. Now changed the boot order back and trying a 64bit Win7 repair disc. It's taking ages to run a memory test..
