  • any question responded to with another question thread

one minor frustration with the lynskeys is they route the gear cables on the down tube, which is fine if your bike is not being ridden in mud all the time, though this can be addressed with gore cabling

  • Im not sure if its a repost. Hay all sorry been a bit silent here and also riding.
As its getting too winter and i dont really have lots of bike orintated clothes what would you recommend to wear when riding in winter? Its just really i would just throw on some joggers and a hoodie but i seem to get really hot and sweaty, which i hate! Also i have looked into getting some silk tops ive herd they are super warm n wicking! Does anyone have experience whith silk tshirts?

    Cheers mems

  • Search:

    Winter/merino.

  • Yasi - I assume that you need it for a poster. Any corner shop with a post office should have them or, failing that, Ryman's.

Ryman's > a Post Office in the excitement stakes.

    A stacation?

have no moeny and showing at an exhibitio next week :/ but will have a look and see what i can find.

  • Yas; I have a tube that is 615mm if that is any good? you are welcome to come round and pick it up.

  • grooming.

  • How's your tube Damo?

  • Has a bigger bore capacity and more length.

  • say for example someone forgot to get some gear cable outer when they were out, and then couldn't be arsed to go outdoors again, could they just use brake cable outer instead?

  • It's a larger diameter, I think, so you might have a hard time getting it into the shifter/mech.

  • I am all about explosions and death

I've still got a bit for the rear mech, it was just the front bit from the shifter to the cable stop on the downtube I lost. I hope it fits the cable stop

  • Sounds like you might need a small inverse shim

  • also, gear cable is made up of wires that run in parallel down the cable outer, but with brake cable they are spiralled round to reinforce, and as such shifting can be affected. or at least it did with an old 5 speed indexed thing i was playing with..

  • I hav some spare gear outer in SE23 if that helps.

  • can anyone recommend a good mobile contract around £10?
i need a phone with it.

  • Bit of route advice please: I need to cycle from my work, on Holloway Road, to LMNH tomorrow at 5 are there any good shortcuts I can use other than the main roads? Cheers

  • Where on Holloway Road would you start your ride?

for £10 a month I'd go with giffgaff on paygo but that doesn't help with the phone aspect.

  • yeah cheers, ive seen giffgaff. if it comes down to it i may just have to buy a phone and then a sim only.

  • ^I joined giffgaff today. from the last 7 hours of service they have provided I am, so far, pleased.

  • we can phone each other for free tom! what are you doing at 4am tomorrow morning? fancy a chat?

  • they use the O2 network

  • unfortunately ciq, I'm yet to swap my number over. And I don't know what my new one is. shame.

An important thing to note with GiffGaff, is that it is pretty much the only provider that gives you UNLIMITED data included in that £10. I actually tether my laptop to my phone and get broadband internet speed. This is technically not allowed, but not been rumbled yet.

and as long as you buy some form of credit/goodybag off them once every three months then all calls to other giffgaffers is free.

Also 0800 is free, and 0345 numbers are included in your minutes.

god, I sound like an advert.

    you can always phone me...
