Right, I just bought some pd m520,went to fit the included cleats to my shoes and realised I don't have any cleat nuts.
Bollocks.
Is it worth buying some or shall I try and blag some from lbs/here? -
• #20903
try blag some free ones first, and if nothing comes of it then buy some.
any decent LBS should be able to give you some for free, surely.. -
• #20904
That's what google tells me, certainly. I'll try Vaidas, not overly hopeful though. Perhaps wilson's would be a safer bet... any one got a spare set for a beer?

Blag from whoever is closest. I've got some here in Slough.

does anyone else find that the hairs on their knees poke through their leg warmers?
-

I have a whole bunch of cleat nuts here in SE22 if you need some, I bought a bunch of spares from Clerkenwell screws when I lost one.

We are talking about these, aren't we?

Yeah, I think so. To go inside a shoe to give the cleat bolts something to hold onto.
Mrlemon, that'd be magic. I'll be coming past yours at about half 7 tomorrow, if that's any good? -

has anyone ever used ultrasonic mouse reppellers.
we have had mice for ages now, tried humane traps, glue traps, and today i bought old school snap traps. caught 2 mice in less than an hour, but it's brutal and horrible. Didn't realise it was gonna be quite as awful as that.
So yea, do they repellers actually work, or does anyone have a better suggestions?
-
• #20913
Only remember one story a mate told me about coming home to find a mouse sleeping on top of one, humane traps ftw, or get a cat or cat piss to spread around
-
• #20914
speaking of humane traps, don't use those sticky pads. You just get a very angry mouse stuck to a piece of plastic which you still have to kill. I had to do it once, it wasn't pleasant, the mouse also bit me.
-

You need to remove the food source by putting everything in tins or plastic boxes, and try and block any holes (and a mouse can fit through a hole the size of a biro) that they can enter the house/flat through.
Then kill all the little furry bastards in the house. Some cats are very effective at this part.

If our experience is anything to go by, where mice go, rats usually follow. That's a whole new level of bloody warfare.
-
• #20917
bare in mind that there isn't much that mice wont eat, paper, candles, wood etc
-
• #20918
humane traps haven't worked so far. We had 2 dish sponges on the worktop that they had made a nest in, they are all over our kitchen, its pretty bad. infact, its fuken rank!
Im not up for dealing with a cat, but where exactly do I get cat piss from???
-
• #20919
all food is removed, we hardly have any food in the house anyway, its mostly just rum.
-
• #20920
ah well there's your problem, they're probably ships mice, they love a bit of rum
-
• #20921
destroy them with flattery and kindness

Been in a house which had a pair. Drove me mental with that little squeaking going at the edge of hearing.
-
• #20923
cat piss is normally found in cats, or on old people with too many cats

Mice are right buggers. The sonic emitters are total shit. The best advice is what Andy has said: Proof the exterior of the building and kill the ones that are present.
The key is to break the breeding cycle, as the young mice learn from their parents, including what parts of the house are dangerous to go and where the best food is.
Look for smear marks (black streaks) which can indicate the mice's main thoroughfares then stuff loads of wire wool and filler in any holes bigger than a pencil. Also check for holes in the ceiling and walls, as mice are well good climbers!
Then use sticky mats... but only if you're comfortable killing a mouse when you find them.
Or get a cat. Cat's are wicked.

I'd try and identify where they're coming from (and what Andy says is quite true, they can squeeze through the smallest of holes) and pour any amount of bleach or similar in and around the area. Use things you may have in the house, rather than buying fancy repellents which don't seem to work.
