  • Is "thankyou" a word?

  • What's exactly wrong with it? Something you can look at and try to fix?

Not sure, he said he's going to phone and ask fo a copy of the photo they have as proof and details of whats wrong today. I tried, retrospectively to fix both his other ones but they were beyond repair.

hide his arms behind his back with shirt on top and feign disability, "how can I unscrew that, I've got no fucking arms!"

or i could get him really drunk and claim that hes legless and that they're being discriminatory.

  • yes

  • Doodle is also a word.

  • Is "thankyou" a word?

    No - thank you.

  • Yeah, that's what I thought.

  • Take it back to where he bought it, no? Let them deal with the return/repairs.

will they do that almost a year later? and surely they'd just sent it off to microsoft who'd say exactly the same thing?

  • 2 years in the EU isn't it?

  • will they do that almost a year later? and surely they'd just sent it off to microsoft who'd say exactly the same thing?

If he bought it from Shop X and it was Shop X that had opened it up, or sold him a return job, then it's their fault for selling it on.

  • I never buy from Shop X, dodgy bastards in there

  • They have a good range, but the prices leave a little to be desired.

  • at least they always mark their store locations clearly on maps

I shall pass on what your said, thanks hippy

  • What alernatives to Flash, Silverlight and SVG do we have for creating interactive floor plan maps for web/mobile?

  • I just bought a front shifter for my 9 speed setup, on the packet it says it's for 10 speed

    Will it work properly?

  • Just spoke to my friend, comet say that they wouldn't have resold an opened unit and if he's taken it to them for repair they'd just send it to microsoft again. He spoke to a supervisor at microsoft and he said they can do nothing as it looks like he opened it and he can't prove otherwise. He's spoken to trading standards standards again and they said he needs independent evidence. which seem pretty stupid to me because if someone other than microsoft opens it the warranty is voided, besides microsoft has already opened it and thus broken the seals. I said he should write a formal letter to microsoft and then if he gets no where with that contact a consumer rights group.

  • If I swap out my 50/34 compact crankset for a 53/39 one, will the 'gear indexing' (is this a real thing?) get fncked?

  • or he could leave it and embrace the joy of all the productive things he could be doing rather than arguing with american brats on cod....

At the back, no, you'll have to move the front mech up 2-3mm to account for the bigger ring, and this will likely mean readjusting it.

Very straightforward, the only thing to really check is that your chain is long enough- if it was marginal before, it might be too short now.

Double check what the indexing is. Easy enough.

i think he only plays fifa

  • Thanks Dammit. Part 2 of my n00b questions then is how do I tell if the chain is long enough seeing as the rear mech pulls it tight, if it's in the big ring and smallest cog it looks like so:

  • That chain looks to be the correct length, so it'll likely be too short if you change to a 53/39 setup.

Do you plan to race btw? There's no other reason to change to a 53 ring.

  • No plans to race, plus I'm very happy with the range I already have. Only considering the change to upgrade from Rival/S300 to Force for a good price. Probably a relatively pointless expense but if it was a simple swap I would have gone for it anyway.

  • Double check what the indexing is. Easy enough.

How do I check this? Sorry if its a noob question! Everything is XT 9 speed except the left hand (front) shifter which says 3x10 on the pack.. am I right in assuming the front rings would be in the same position for 9 and 10 speed?

  • I assumed it was the r/h shifter.

I believe they're the same. I don't know for certain if 9 and 10 are the same but I'm using an old 9spd shifter on a 10spd chainset on one bike and the other way around on another bike. Did they all come in a groupset package? If so you could always ask the shop you got it from if it was correct.
