if i can't get ahold of a DA 7800 rear 10 speed hub what other options do I have for a 10 speed rear wheel ? what hubs could i use in their place ?
or will i just have to bin the whole group set ?
7800 hubs are "10-speed only" due to the aluminium freehub having deep splines which only fit 10-speed cassettes. Any 8-speed or higher HG freehub (Shimano or compatible) will take a 10-speed cassette with a 1mm spacer behind the cassette for most (exception to the spacer rule is 'junior' geared Ultegra cassettes).
In other words, there are dozens of hub or complete wheel options which will take a Shimano 10-speed cassette.

I had to purchase a 7850 titanium freehub body, which replaced the alloy ones and can take nine speed, entertainingly.
It was far from cheap.

Ten dollars fifty.

The chap offered it to me for precisely 100 times that via the medium of PM.

I'm not sure I am looking forward to the day when you ask us to analyse your power output as well as your running speed/weight loss/grouting technique.
-
• #20308
Each thing in its time, and a time for each thing.
The period of weight loss is now in the past, running is current and likely to remain so, grouting is yet in the future, but it too will pass.
At least my enthusiasms do not run to evangelical Ukelele, "whole body" tambourine and speed morris dancing.

↑This, or less.
Take the cranks and PC-V(I*) and wiring harness off the price the complete kit made and you come to a negative number. There's a couple of PC-VI head units hovering around the $100 at the moment, but it's a big punt to go in for the head unit and spider separately. You already have the cranks? Given that the one that went for £500 complete was too rich for your blood you should be reasonably confident that if you win the spider for under £100 then you can complete the kit for around £400.

The chap selling them has the PC-V, magnets (how do they etc), and charger, leads and so forth.
He will include these in the sale- however the head unit needs the battery changing.
I do indeed have the cranks (SiSl's), but would need axle and bearing shield.
I was thinking maybe ~£300 for SRM unit, PC-V, plus wiring harness, due to the battery change and so on?
I'd prefer £200, although the seller has asked me what I want to spend, and I feel a bit rude telling him $320 as my offer when he asked for $1,050

True, I've called instead - the deed is done.

Fuckers that use text speak need to have their fucking fingers chopped off. Or their thumbs. Whichever they use to type.

Is there anything you can buy for chesty coughs over the counter that actually works?
I'm currently taking guaifenesin (which is probably helping) and phenylephrine hydrochloride, which probably isn't, but I can take it at the same time. As far as I know cough syrup type things are a waste of time, is this right?

Sorry to bang on with these road bike questions, I just don't know a huge amount about them and value the knowledge of you lot.
1) Is a Cannondale R1000 Optimo with full Ultegra for £550 a good deal?
2) Are BMC SSX Streetfires any good (with 105) for similar money?
