Can anybody tell me what the ERD of an Alexrim R700 50mm rim is?
Google has found nothing.

measure it yourself.

Looks like I have to. Always better to go with manufacturer spec in my experience though. ..especially if you're a bit hamfisted with measurements like me! Condor just gave me so good tips on how to measure accurately so I will give it a go.

It's not that hard, and you should always have 2 sources for any rim erd imo.
Just double check, and then check again.

I have a large print (1.5m x 1m) that I need to hang in my living room, I will either be using 3mm glass or in a perspex box like these. Either way it will be quite heavy and I need to put it on an internal wall which is pretty much plasterboard, any suggestions? Was thinking wall plugs into the wooden supports but will this hold? Anyone DIYsmart?

Screw into the wooden battens directly,( find them first !) using decent size wood screws and not chipboard screws.

Is it your flat- are you allowed to put holes in things?

Good plan (yep my flat)

\Eitehr do as Freezing77 suggests, or if you cannot find the studwork, or it is not in a convenient place use plastrerboard fixings like these:

I've tried searching for the answer in Dammit's worn rim debacle but couldn't find anything.
How thin is too thin when it comes to worn rims? One result I found said <0.9mm is worn out but I can't find a definitive answer.

What is 'genre-fiction', and how does it differ from common as muck, plain 'fiction'? At a guess it's genres other than crime, thriller and romance which regularly clog up the gutters of Corfu?
-
• #20138
Nope - it's all the ones you list and others, as seperate from literary fiction. I.e. the stuff that wins Booker Prizes etc.

I see, thanks

So basically genre fiction = shit fiction?

What's the cheapest I could get a man with a van to transport a sofa in a flat from near Victoria to the Royal College of Art in South Kensington?
And, same question but Ealing to South Ken?
I'm looking at you wvm!
How soon does this need to happen?

Will I regret installing a rear brake (as well as a front) on my first fixed gear bike?
-
• #20144
no, you can always take it off later on.

I actually quite enjoyed riding fixed with two brakes recently. It can be very relaxing if you have tired legs.
As HB says, no harm in trying. You can always remove the rear brake and sell it on classifieds if you don't like it.

It's useful on longer rides or if you're new to fixed. I've had cramp from kicking back/skidding before. Not a pleasant experience.

Ah, awesome. Thanks a lot.

Don't forget to try with front brake only though...its much more fun most of the time ;)

Whatever you do, don't pay tax before the year end.
As my dearly departed grandad used to say "Don't let the bastards earn interest on your money when you could be".
I particularly like riding with 6pt and OSR when they're sporting rear discs. Awesome awesome sound.
