I bought some 36 hole CXP 30's a while ago, thinking about putting them together for the Mrs' bike, which means 10 speed Campag.
About which I know nothing.
So- the rest of her bike is Chorus, 10 speed as mentioned, should I be looking for a specific type of hub or will any Campag 10 speed part work?

Scoot. Just a tip, if you need to get some sunglasses why not get some Rayban Wayferers. I'm sure you will be ahead of the crowd with those....

Any 'Campag' 10v compatible hub will work, but there are no 36h hubs in the current Campagnolo catalogue, so it's Miche/Ambrosio or Hope, depending on how much you love her.

Or do they think that 32 spokes are enough for anyone?

I wish I could afford Raybans. Unfortunately I'm not a trust fund girl.

Yes
As they only make Record hubs these days, my guess is they are only in the bare hub market at all so that their sponsored teams have something for Paris-Roubaix. It's all about factory built wheels these days, that way they get all the wheel revenue instead of splitting it between hub, spoke and rim manufacturers and wheel builders. Same with Mavic and their diminishing bare rim range.

Fair enough. Would Hope hubs "go" with Champagne CXP 30's is the next question then.
Bike is an Omega Shadow, so bare Ti, Look CF forks, everything is black and silver basically, apart from the red lettering on the fork.

Well, they do black, silver and a kind of grey called 'gunsmoke', so one of them must go with your colour scheme

Good European town for Christmas markets? Currently thinking Germany - maybe Cologne.
-
• #19016
Cologne has a Christmas market in the shadow of the mahoosive gothic cathedral. Quite atmospheric if I recall.

Brussels, Copenhagen ... great Christmas markets at both. Brussels is easy on Eurostar.

how can i lighten an old racer (pref the wheels) without loosing its rather pleasing aesthetics?
modern aluminium wheels seem to be ugly as sin or emblazoned logos and brand names. any ideas?

h son tb14 are pretty classic looking in the chrome finish, not sure about weight though? can save alot of weight just on tyres depending on what you're currently running....

Birmingham.
Its true that we have a genuine German christmas market, they actually bring in real german vendors. But I still think the whole concept is a bit shit.

But to be honest you'll spend a lot more than the bike is worth achieving very little I think, best to just get a whole new bike unless the "old racer" is something that was high end in its day
