Thank you. I know it isn't cheap, but James holds his grandad close to his heart, and it's worth the money for proper display of medals.
Lileth,
There's a place off Trafalgar square called Holditch who did my medal mounting. I'm sure they would do framing, or have a contact who would. Their website seems to be non-existent but last time I passed that way the shop was still there.
A place I found online called Poppy Medal Framing looks ok, but I can't speak from experience about them.
I used to do a bit of picture framing in my youth. Medals look tricky but are not that bad. Best practice is to sew the ribbon onto the mount, but many framers will use a hot glue gun. That is actually not as bad as it sounds, as a decent medal framer will replace the ribbon with brand new stuff anyway to make them look their best. Obviously, if they are hideously valuable VC's or whatever, they'll leave the ribbon alone, but for more common medals they will put new stuff on as the ribbons tend to discolour or get stained with brasso or silver polish.

i saw some weird cranks last night and now i'm intrigued. they were massively chunky, a matt bronzey/gold colour, each crank was a chunky elongated oval shape with an x-brace in the middle of it and i swear... although i may have imagined this, that i saw the dude riding them (on a black pearson road bike), moved them independantly. i.e he held one crank still and pack pedalled the other to bring the cranks back to opposite positions... meaning they must have been temporarily both at the same position on the clock face. did i imagine this? am i going mental? what are they?

Curtain road...The Old Blue Last? The Strongroom? The Horse & Groom? All quite loud places though, not great for a quiet chat, although there's loads of heated tables at The Strongroom where you can sit outside and actually hear yourself think.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry, I was using my phone last night and missed your post...so sorry...and thank you again. I appreciate it.
Yep. Check out Callooh Callay on Rivington St. Really cool, unusual cocktails. Nice little place for a date too. Even has a wardrobe you can walk through into another part of the bar.
Thank you as well.

Last time I posted a question like this I got a good response, so, here goes:
Does anyone know a secure locking location close to London Bridge? I'm off to the arch climbing wall later and hope to avoid London's famous bike-thievery.
-
• #16987
there is one of those actual secure bike parks under the arches next to On Your Bike, don't know if it costs.
-
• #16988
oh, yeah, it costs http://www.onyourbike.com/stylesheet.asp?file=7_1_1_cycle_park

I've never received funds through paypal, upon receipt do they automatically go into your bank account, or do you have to transfer them over some how?
-
• #16997
they will stay there until you transfer them yourself
remember to leave some for the fees, saves it coming out your B/account

Did you see these on OKR or SE London generally? There is a fool who runs these. With his saddle too high.
repped!
