Turbos are good for fitness, but notoriously bad for form; but rollers aren't everyone's cup of tea (despite being great for form).
*assuming we're all on the same page as far as what 'form' meansYou're bad for form. Turboist.

Good question.

I still use mine in a doorway. I'm stable on them, after hours and hours and hours, but they're staying in a doorway. Forever.
Some people advocate single leg exercises on the turbo for working on form, but I don't subscribe to that at all. My turbo has seen a lot of use though, and will continue to do so.
@jayloo - riding a lowish fixed gear for a few months (over the winter or whatever) should help your form, particularly if you don't shy away from the odd downhill, or riding on the flat with other riders who are geared or running a taller gear than you. 60 to 63" works well, and you can comfortably average winter training pace :)
I ride with fast dudes, so ride a lot harder and faster than other people I know, but have been slowing down when I'm by myself to try to concentrate on how I move my feet through the pedal stroke and trying to use my legs instead of my lower back when going up inclines (Cedars is not a hill, but Latchmere Road is). I'd like to get in some more aerobic exercise, so how are turbos not good for that? while watching the telly b/c I hate the gym but want a similar kind of exercise.
I'm on 46 x 19.
Neil, I will take that turbo of yours to try it out, thanks!
Other than that, does the one I linked to seem like a good price/place to start?
Here it is again, for reference:

My wife is thinking about getting a Charge Mixer 11 (I think, possibly 8). It has a Shimano Alfine hub gears, from photos it looks like the cable doesn't enter the hub at the end of the axle as I've seen on Sturmey Archer hubs.
She wants to be able to use the bike on the turbo trainer, would this be a problem with the hub gears, assuming I can mount it properly?
The cable attachment is inside the chainstays, so yes, an Alfine equipped bike is fine on a turbo trainer.

No doubt, but we make the best of what we have
Given what you have, it looks like a reasonable compromise between too long and too short. With the tri bars so high and so far back, you're stuck with a big s-bend in the cable route, unless you can get the cables out of the extensions behind the hand grip (some tri bar extensions are drilled for this), then you could pretty much straight line it from extension to cable stop.

I've had a numb fingertip for about a month now.
Mine was caused by poor handlebar position.
It doesn't hurt and is only numb in a very small area so I'm just going to wait it out and see if it gets better.

My brain is numb
Lets hope not, given that the hot road racing set up for 2011 is 23c on 23mm wide rims. Zipp actually recommend a 21c tyre for the latest 808 Firecrest, which is over 24mm wide at the periphery. I'm running 700x25 GP4000s on 22.5mm wide Salsa Delgado rims on my fixie skidder, but they blow up to just over 27mm when you spread them out on the bigger rim, compared with the skinny rims on which the nominal size is based.
