  • I absolutely shit on everyone in terms of topspeed, as in people just can't keep up, even in a straight line.

    please, show me the science.

    I already did.

  • I searched for this but can't find the answer above.

How do you get rid of moths? We are being plagued by the little sh*ts and the Rapha is under threat!!!

  • yes you did, but that doesn't mean I understand it.

I think it's how I had worked it out in my head, before someone had hit me with galileos argument...

  • How do you get rid of moths

You need to sacrifice a room. Turn all your lights out except in this room. Wait for a bit the shut the door, allowing you to turn your other lights on.

That room is now the moth's room.

  • Damp cloth and whip.

Been doing this all days we've had a localised fly problem for the past week. A 3mile stretch of the valley I live in is plagued by the barstards so I'm getting plenty of fast hand-eye coordination practice. The local shop has had 3 handfulls of flies in 2 days from one of those blue fly electrocuting things

Wondered where you might be going with "Damp cloth and whip".

That's nuts. There seemed to be a localised flying ant day in West London the other day. Bastards were everywhere.

  • We had flying ants here today. Just to add to the bloody flies. I don't mind them, but I'd rather they didn't try to enter my ears

  • Introduce bats to the ecosystem of your house.

Ha, my squadron of trained moths has located their target

You must make sure that anything made by Rapha is in the room before you shut the door.

  • I'd avoid 2300 like the plague tbh, it's cheap and nasty, still has square taper cranks instead of the hollowtech like the sora.

I have the 2300 and my left gearleavershifterthingymabob has just borked and like Dammit I'd have to upgrade a load of other stuff to change rather than 85 quid to replace the pair (or wait for ebay) so I'm riding mine till its robbed or broken.*

    *and breathe

  • The 2011 Allez with 2300 is about £500, to get a 2011 Allez Comp 105 will be at least twice as much. That's a pretty big budget stretch. Of course, most of us wouldn't be looking at any kind of Allez for commuting, but that's a separate discussion.

Yer, im already stretching a bit to get a basic Allez (student budget), not sure what other options I really have at that price range.

  • ^See my last post

  • Or go with a second hand. Bargains to be had there.

    What size do you need?

54cm Carbon Boardman with Rival, £500 with no bids/£800 BIN

  • I went from sora (9 speed) to 105 10 speed for my audax (only geared) bike and I love it. It's not just the shifters which make a difference.

  • Why have the Mall Galleries decided that taking my work to Doncaster is a great idea?

Unfortunately im a 58cm, but im definitely considering looking 2nd hand, although I dont really know much about what Im looking at. I like the look of the newer Specialized which is why ive been looking for them but a 58 seems quite rare (fi only I was 56).

Doncaster is not as mainstream. You want obscure, it's good. It gives you the art cred.

    +1 to SRAM apex

  • will I finally remember to buy more shampoo tonight?

  • if you are anything like me, no.

Can I recommend the pound shop on your way home? They have super posh shampoo cheap most of the time.
