  • A friend of mine has kindly provided me with a front derailleur to replace my one which snapped a couple of days ago. I'd like to recompense him with some cash monies but not sure what would be a fair price. It's an alloy Centaur 10 speed, probably 5 years old and in decent condition.

  • fifteen quid

  • Is it possible to get a (tight) track frame for 26" wheels that's steel and doesn't cost a lot?
Edit or a tight road frame.

  • is it possible to repair cracks in carbon frames-or does mean a 'write off' ?

  • There was a company at the cycle show who repairs carbon bikes. I sent the link to a friend months ago, could try and dig it out if google doesn't help you out.
    Not a write off no.

Now, track frame 26"? Where's Scoble?

  • thanks /\ )

  • with 114GI what rpm would be required to hit 60mph?

  • on 84, cadence is 4x speed (mph), could probably work it out from there. about 180?

  • yeah, around 176 I think, cheers... just found this http://www.machars.net/bikecalc.htm

  • This is an interesting read; for a 34" inseam it suggests >185mm!

I am now paralysed with indecision.

Fuji Track seems like the obvious option. But that only works if your little.

Otherwise maybe have a look on the trick threads for recommended jump(?) type frames.

  • I need help to think of some stores like Rough Trade and Beyond Retro that have a small number retail outlets. I need to come with a way of displaying a small amount of stores on a page and I'm just drawing a friday afternoon blank.

  • ann summers?

Cheers hugo. Jump frames have too large wheel base. Will research the Fuji.

  • so not quite 26" then.
I guess the geo would suit them though?
They only do 43cm from what I can see, so too small.

Scrap all that, it's not steel.

    I guess I'm asking too much. :(

  • Apologies to actual mentals.

  • how come you want a 26" track frame anyways?

  • Polo. So I want it aggressively tight and steel so I can weld bosses on.

  • ann summers?

good excuse for a perv, they appear to have a system I want to avoid though.

  • ^^ sorry the fuji track junior was a bit of a joke, as I guessed you wouldn't be that small.

Like I said (not that I really know anything) but I'd have thought a dirt jump frame would be a good idea. The headtube angle on this (full build and overbudget I know) is 69.5 and it looks like with a layback you'd be sitting over the rear wheel.

EDIT: If you're going that way, a random google search came up with this list, which includes some geo angels

    http://free-du.htnet.hr/trials/frames.html

...and ebay has lots, like this with 22hrs no bids and £40

  • does anyone get a numb minnie when they ride? any way to stop this?
