Thanks, Andy. I take it the SRS is the bit I'm looking for?
No, it says if they have replaceable soles.
I like my Northwave and my Vaude mtb shoes.
I've just received some lake road shoes but am yet to try them. -

haha! OK, well, none of the ladies mtb specified that so I've emailed them directly.

What's the ettiquette with ebay sniping?
Just had a jacket I was selling go for a 1/3 of what I wanted, and the winning bid was made 5s before end of listing. Can I offer it to another bidder?
guess i should have put a reserve, was my first sale on there, didn't realise
-
• #13182
NO, sell it to the winning bidder.
-
• #13183
^ this.
-
• #13184
But does it register the other bids when someone snipes?
-
• #13185
Everybody loves an eBay bargain.
-
• #13186
But does it register the other bids when someone snipes?
Yes. The person who bids the highest wins, regardless of whether they've used a sniping tool.
Take it as a lesson learnt, albeit a hard one, and next time either set a reserve or start at a price you're happy with.

thats not very nice.
-
• #13190
Why not?
-
• #13191
It's the same as placing a bid yourself in the last handful of seconds- something I tend to do a lot
-
• #13192
i spose what if alot of you are using snipe? :/ just means the person waiting has no chnace
-
• #13193
Makes no difference if your highest bid is the max you want to pay!
-
• #13194
Yasi- that's true if the other people are waiting until the last second, but if they've put their highest bid in then eBay will automatically raise the bidding to that price.
i.e. the auction is at £5, with 3 seconds to go.
You have used a sniper program to bid £10 at the very last moment, but someone else has bid £1,000.
You sniper program will fire, and at once be outbid by the person who has put the highest bid in.
-
• #13195
oh so you could pay £1000 for toilet roll cover?
-
• #13196
only if you were stupid enough to bid £1000 on a toilet roll cover.
-
• #13197
so its good for the buyer if there a big war on but not for the person buing it
-
• #13198
it it was knitted my a walrus i would bid generously.
-
• #13199
No, bidding increases incremently so you'll only pay the next increment up from the second highest bidder.
Is this making much sense? -
• #13200
i spose what if alot of you are using snipe? :/ just means the person waiting has no chnace
Everyone does.
(apart from some ladies who thrive on bid wars over a pair of shoes or a second hand Miss Sixty skirt six days before the auction ends)
^ That just confirms that this certainly isn't a child friendly forum
