With b123s, a jaguar stem and fancy tape all secured by 1 allen bolt... what's the best way to save those?
can't exactlysecure them with a brake cable...Sorted.

?
also with a hinged brake lever, that would make it 2 bolts...
or 1 bolt and, quick release on brake and pop the cable out.

You're only ever going to slow thieves down, not stop them.

Get a Brompton. Don't lock it outside. Sorted.

Undo 1 Allen bolt, take bars and stem with you wherever you go.

so basically i will be fine. good to know. just wanted to make sure.
I will have my nice bike with couplers inside under my bed all the time unless I am riding it, but I will be bringing my lock-up bike for getting around the city. I just won't treat it any different than I treat my current lock jobs
-
• #12509
is it nuknow that locks his bike to his sink?
tester yes that seems the only solution... so instead i use a 2nd setup worth a little less around town.

If you know how to lock up and look after your stuff (and it sounds like you do). You should be ok.
I have no idea how Wiganwill has kept his QR wheels all these years though? Perhaps by riding through every dog shit between drops?

-
• #12513

AND the cable guide under the chainstay of my Raliegh seems to be too small to get a ferrule in, but big enough for the cable outer to slip all the way through. Are there different sized ferrules?
-
• #12519
Yes there are different sizes though I would have thought the standard one you've got would be fine? Can do it t'toher way or would that not make sense?

I can't decide on a wheel dilemma.
I have a pair of Mavic Open SUP CD rims, one of which is laced up to a Campag C-Record front road hub. The rear hub is a C-Record screw-on road hub laced to a knackered Open Pro. My intention was to replace knackered Open Pro with good Open SUP. All with me so far? Good.Instead I changed the entire wheelset to Campag Omega on C-Record 8 speed cassette so these wheels are never going back on the road bike.
Do I rebuild as planned and sell a complete 7 speed wheelset?
Do I tear the front down and sell 2 hubs and 2 rims separately?
Or do I take the SJS double-fixed hubs I have and build up a fixed wheelset? -
• #12521
in the case you go for the sale option, better to sell sell 2 hubs and 2 rims separately.
you will get more pounds -
• #12522
I made more money for cutting shit out.
Strangely enough, because spokes and wheel building aren't cheap either. -
• #12523
is there a market for pre-enjoyed spokes too?
-
• #12524
it will make sense if there is one, as spokes are bloody expensive, but saddly there is not none
-
• #12525
Shit, C-Record goes for a bit on ebay if you polish it a bit doesn't it?
Right. Option C I think. Sell the hubs and build a fixed wheelset with the rims.
